Thinking about having your child's birthday party here??! Warning: DON'T.
We have visited here a handful of times with our now 11 month old, and we've enjoyed each visit up until they decided to change the layout of the baby zone. With these new changes, we've noticed a few things that have not been up to par: exposed electrical sockets, unfinished flooring, poor paint jobs and more. This lack of attention to detail screams a lack of concern and it's bothersome. But, because my daughter enjoyed her time playing here, and they have play areas for a wide range of ages, I decided to book her 1st birthday party at this location; even with the eyesores mentioned. A standard birthday party for 12 kids is $299. They provide 2 pizzas, drinks, plates, napkins, utensils, and goodie bags. You can bring outside food and drinks etc. Cool. I went on a tour of the rooms on two separate occasions, to scope out what we were working with. The first time we were shown the rooms, we were told that we could choose between the orange or the green room. I noticed that one of the rooms had a huge tv mounted on the wall-- I asked if we could use it for slideshow purposes. I was advised that the TV didn't work... So, we booked the green room, the one without the TV.
Fast forward a few months-- Friday I took my baby to play and rechecked the new renovations that seemed rushed and unfinished to see if there was any improvement. The place still looked unfinished. While there, I took another tour of the green room I booked. The first thing I noticed walking into room was the heat. It was HOT inside of the "green" room. I mentioned it right away and was told there was no air conditioning in that room... I'm sorry, what??? She said that because of the remodel, there was no air conditioning in the party rooms, but that I shouldn't worry because it doesn't get too hot and they usually bring in two floor fans to cool it down. I'm sorry, WHAT??? I told her that this was a problem and that we had a party of over 20 guests coming... air conditioning is a requirement! She said that she would speak to the owners about it. After that disturbing tour and before we left, I talked to the staff again about the room and the air issue. A different staff member said we were shown the wrong room. The tour we went on was of the orange room-- he showed us the actual green room; it had the nonfunctional TV in it, but he told us it had air conditioning. We left feeling halfway relieved. The staff seemed confused and we have a milestone birthday party coming up in less than a month, for which we have family flying in from both sides for. I needed SOLID INFORMATION. I called the same day to discuss the room and air situation again. Over the phone, I was told that we were confirmed for the green room, but that it also didn't have air... but again, it doesn't get too hot and they could put in two floor fans. At this point I was livid. What kind of establishment allows PAYING CUSTOMERS to utilize an unfinished room with no air conditioning, and then have the audacity to justify it and think that putting floor fans in the room is a fix??? You mean to tell me that you think having over 20 people stuck in a hotbox, with floor fans in a room full of crawling babies, who are constantly pulling up on things, is ok?? That is a safety hazard!! Unacceptable. I called their corporate office and left a voice message to discus this-- I have not received a call back. Saturday I cancelled my baby's birthday party and demanded our deposit back.
This place is a money grab and we...
Read moreI want to start out by saying this review is not a reflection on any of the therapists we’ve seen at LL Cedar Park, as their knowledge and expertise has been amazing. The front desk staff has always been kind and courteous. Our issue lies with billing and some untruthful practices of the back end staff. I’ll start out by saying we started at Little Land Leander, in which we have absolutely no problems with. It wasn’t until we were forced to move to Cedar Park after Leander shut down is when the problems started. With LL Leander our agreement for insurance co-pay when we started was $20 per visit as per our insurance benefits. Which we paid each time without a problem. This also seemed to be fine when we transferred to Cedar Park and did an entire months worth of visits. Then, our updated HSA cards were lost in the mail and the old card had expired, we requested a replacement set, in doing so LL CP was kind enough to hold the co-pay for two sessions until and updated card was received. This is where the problems started. My husband discovered that we were being double billed. Which we assumed was an oversight. So I politely brought it up to the front desk and they were sweet enough to gather all of the information to submit to billing to get it corrected. Our next appointment there was no resolution and we were told that Little Land Leander made a mistake when doing our insurance and we should be paying $74 instead of $20. Without complaint we paid the $74 for the next month. So in hindsight they were double billing us on purpose. In January we received an email from the billing department that stated due to insurance changes our therapy services will be cut in half from 60 minutes to 30 minutes due to insurance not reimbursing for the full amount and they were doing their “due diligence” to work with the insurance company to get services restored to the full hour. Which didn’t sit well with me for 2 reasons. 1. We pay our deductible out of pocket in full before insurance takes over any payments. 2. Our insurance policy didn’t change this year with our employer. So I called the insurance company for clarification and they advised no changes have been made and the only payment they were receiving currently was what I was being billed for my co pay until the deductible was met. To which, I called LL and asked for clarification. At first I spoke with scheduling who advised it was just and issue with reimbursement from insurance. I explained to her that I pay my deductible out of pocket until it’s met and I’m the only one reimbursing them for the service. I then asked if they would continue to keep my child’s full hour and if not, would they be reducing the copayment in half since they are cutting her time in half. She didn’t have an answer and said she would get with her manager and get back to me. Update: I heard back today and was told that unfortunately that the sessions would be cut in half but not the payment. They could switch me to self pay which would be $100 a session. This place is a joke and has no interest in the care of...
Read moreAs a parent of a 5-year-old autistic son, I’ve worked with many speech and occupational therapists over the years. While we’ve always been committed to finding the right support for him, it was challenging to find a place where he could truly thrive—until we found Little Land Pediatric Therapy & Play Gym. We began speech, OT, and ABA therapy here in November, and the progress has been truly remarkable. In just a few months, my son began to make progress. His sensory sensitivities have decreased, his speech and vocabulary have grown tremendously, and he’s now expressing his needs and feelings in ways he never did before. He’s becoming more independent, recognizes me as his mom, and recently told me “I love you”—fully understanding what it means. That moment meant everything. The entire Little Land team welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like family. From the front desk to the therapists—every staff member is kind, attentive, and deeply invested in helping each child succeed. They take the time to listen to parents, collaborate on meaningful goals, and celebrate every step forward. Beyond therapy, their open play gym is a wonderful resource. It’s completely baby-proofed and filled with sensory-friendly activities, making it a great place for toddlers and young children to explore. It’s also a great environment for parents to connect and build community. I’ve learned so much from the amazing team at Little Land and continue to apply what they’ve taught me at home. My son now enjoys playing with other children, has made real friendships, and is more engaged with the world around him. Little Land is truly a hidden gem in Austin. They offer outstanding therapy services and accept a variety of insurance plans, making high-quality care accessible to many families. I can’t recommend...
