I had been waiting for this location for a long time since I used to live in Houston on Westheimer Avenue. When this place finally opened, I was really looking forward to visiting because in Houston they opened early. Today I ordered through Uber Eats — I ordered two beef shawarmas, but I was given lamb instead. My wife doesn’t like lamb because of its particular strong flavor, and I don’t enjoy it either. So we ended up with two lamb shawarmas (or rather lamb burritos, since they were served with tortillas). Uber already charges extra for the dishes, and I would have appreciated a call letting me know you didn’t have beef available. Also, it’s surprising that an Arabic restaurant doesn’t have pita bread for shawarma, and instead what you are making now is burritos. I should have been given the choice to decide whether I wanted a burrito or not!

We went to Abu Omar Halal in Cedar Park yesterday, and it was such an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor, fresh, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they really care about the quality. Even though it’s a food truck, the place was super clean and well-maintained, which really stood out to me. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they even gave us some goodies, which was such a nice surprise! My family and I truly enjoyed everything about it great food, great service, and great vibes. Definitely one of the best halal spots in the area. Highly recommend!

Great food and great service but I think they're closed nowadays? I've visited 3 times in the past week (10/6, 10/9, 10/11) during evening business hours and their window was closed. --- 10/16: I thought they were back open, since the official Abu Omar website let me order online to pick-up. I order, drive to the food truck, and see that they're still closed. I think if you are not open then you probably should not be available for online orders. I have to bring the rating down to a 1 star because that is so inconvenient and unprofessional.

I was really excited to try this location and had been waiting for it to open. I’ve had Abu Omar Halal before in Houston, and it was excellent — one of the best shawarma experiences I’ve had.

Unfortunately, my visit last night was disappointing. The staff, especially a guy named Laith, was incredibly kind and professional — great service overall. But the food quality was far below expectations. The chicken Arabi shawarma tasted more like a mix of chicken and garlic sauce soup, the wrap was loose, and the flavor was off. The lamb/beef wrap was even worse — it had a strong, unpleasant smell, and I couldn’t finish a single bite. The fries with both meals were unsalted (maybe intentional since pickles are served, but still flat-tasting).

Overall, this location doesn’t come close to the quality I’ve experienced in Houston. I’d really like to give it another try, but please, improve the food quality. There are several nearby places that aren’t perfect either, but all have been noticeably better than what I...

Came hungry left happy! Classic late night food option when you’re wanting something good that isn’t the classic American late night fast food. Got the beef shawarma this time, the inside of the kitchen area I could see looked spotless like the gentleman running the food truck thought I was the health inspector. The beef shawarma was really good, a nice balance of chopped onion, tomato, and tahini sauce, with the beef having good flavor. Best enjoyed with a side of garlic sauce! Ate at the bench set up next to the food truck, they are on top of some Astro turf so no mud to worry about. Tables were clean outside of the expected dust from the breeze/general environment, a quick wipe with a napkin and ready to eat at. Will definitely...
