One day on my lunch break I go visit store, super nice friendly staff, no complaints, the very next night I stop in after work, an extremely unpleasant and very uncomfortable experience that made me very hesitant to ever return. (The whole mask requirement) one particular employee acted as if she was going to contract covid from behind the counter with a customer just inquiring from the entrance of the store if they sold masks inside?, should have followed my better judgment and just skipped shopping for the night. While shopping and understanding the mask requirements it felt more as if that was the only concern of the staff, not helping find items, greeting customers, shoot not even a fake friendly smile, customer service felt more like harassment rather then mask enforcement, which had me a bit confused, I've always been under the impression that Platos Closet was a used clothing store, which kind of indicates a customer is kind of already taking the risk of cross contamination??? The same blonde haired girl with the superior little attitude, when I entered the store, told me the mask needs to be covering your nose, extremely rude about it, I respected her request pulled my mask back up over my nose and continued my shopping in a different area of the store. While doing my shopping I over heard a situation with a different customer entering the store and being harassed about a mask, before even asking the customer how her day was, or anything, that situation escalated extremely quick, it reached the point of the customer calling the employee names, threatening the employee's life and the customer just being told to leave the property, my ride home was looking for me, came into the store, found me, while the altercation with the other customer was going on, I told her I would be out in a second I just had a few things to grab but I would be quick because I felt like I had already been treated very rude, my ride did not keep her mouth shut, instead involved herself in business that didn't involve her,..it was a ridiculous experience and was definitely a situation that could have been avoided if handled differently from the beginning which would have prevented it from escalating. If the staff would have just been friendly and inviting rather then rude and harassing the customers more then likely wouldn't have been so argumentative and more likely to do more shopping. The lady which looked to be the manager approached me, asked if she could help, that was when I told her my opinion about the entire situation, she did give me 2 complimentary $5. Discount cards, which I thought was a nice gesture, but I do feel like the employee who was responsible for the entire situation from the beginning should be addressed on her approach and her lack of customer service skills. I've been a return customer for years, but this one experience has me just wishing that there was a different store location, I enjoy shopping at Platos but I really don't know if I...
Read moreGood clothes and love shopping in there, but after my last experience of trying to donate/sell my clothes I will not be back. I do not donate/sell my clothes there frequently and is always a fast process of getting you in and dropping your bins off. I tried donating/selling clothes their for the first time in over a year and when I dropped my two bins off and they signed it over they didn’t share new rules and guidelines. As I left the store I get a text saying the clothes are ready not even 5 minutes after I left the store. I got the text message saying my clothes were done before I even got home from dropping my two bins off at the store. I called the store asking why they are already done and how I dropped two bins off. The lady named, Jo would not give me a explanation and all she said was my clothes where done (keep in mind this is the same lady I dropped my clothes off with, on the phone, and same lady I dealt with when picking up my bins). I drove back to the store and the store was busy and the same lady that I was on the phone with and dropped my bins off to refused to help me and told me to get in line. I refused and told her I don’t want to donate/sell any of my clothes with this location anymore and she could hand me my bins because she gave me zero explanation to why she wasted my time. As I was leaving she began to tell me that the clothes where not washed nor folded. I began to tell her that the clothes are washed but no not folded. I have never folded clothes that I am giving away to you guys before and you could of nicely told me that before I left the store and you signed off on the two bins. Or even kindly told me when I asked over the phone. This employee was very unprofessional and immature with how she handled the situation and to be honest embarrassed a customer and showed zero customer service during this experience. From when I first dropped my bins off to when I picked them up she was very...
Read moreI was very disappointed in Plato’s. I had never been and I had just done a closet clean out and figured I would give it a shot for the first time. I brought in a huge XL tote full of items. The things I was getting rid of were brand names items such as Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Old Navy and then a lot of things from SHEIN that had never been worn. A lot of my name brand items had also never been worn. When I first walked in the lady asked me if I had been there before and I said no and she rolled her eyes at me and acted very annoyed when she had to explain to me how to check in. Once I was checked in I was told it would be about a 2-3 hour wait which I had no problem with since I had some other things to do around town. I spent a good 20-30 minutes walking around Plato’s before I went to do my other errands and the entire time the staff behind the counter were all on their phone giggling. There was no looking at items being brought in or helping people check out. When I came back my items were ready. The girl that helped me was very disrespectful and rude. She started off the conversation by saying that they could only take $7 of my stuff. She stated that they appreciated the “big girl clothes” I brought in but they just aren’t their style. She also said that my jeans are all ripped and they don’t take ripped jeans when my sister JUST bought jeans with rips all down the leg there while we were waiting for my items to be checked. I was able to take the rest of my items somewhere that appreciated all of my items and took all of them. I will not be back to...
