Lakes.... ducks... playgrounds... outdoor gyms... live entertainment... I can't believe I hadn't been here before! I'm always seeking out new places for walks/jogs/hikes and this seemed perfect... It's also up the street from the Cerritos Towne Center, so I can indulge after! ;)
Was going to drive out to Cerritos to pick up a friend for dinner after work... It had been a rough day, so we had already decided on dessert for dinner! LOL As I thought about it, searching through my bookmarks, I figured we could squeeze in some healthy stuff since the rest of the night would be doomed!
Weather was wonderful & the surroundings even better! But this place was PACKED!! The main lot was a bit congested, but you can always park over in the adjacent Sports Complex lot. We came across two gym areas - both were completely utilized! This is a good thing.. Well, unless you were one of the peeps awaiting your turn! There were a couple man-made lakes; somehow the ducks & geese knew to avoid the (artificially) "blue" fountain, but they frolicked everywhere else!
We happened to come on a Wednesday night, during their Hot Summer Nights; pleasantly surprised by the live music! We didn't stick around but they show family films as the night progresses. It was nice to see families gathering on their blankets and chairs in anticipation of the night's events!
It's a great place for kids, dog walking, people watching, pre-dessert-for-dinner calorie...
Read moreThis quiet community park features a central lake perfect for fishing, remote-controlled boats, relaxation, and more. It's a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Most recently, I've come to walk the trails and get a simple workout at one of the two outdoor gyms. These gyms use your body weight for resistance, which is excellent for all fitness levels.

Quick facts: One loop jogging around the park is approx. 1.5 miles (based on my GPS) Picnic areas are first-come, first-served, or must be reserved through the park website for the covered lots. Security patrols the park. The Coyote Creek Bikeway is adjacent to the park and goes to Seal Beach. A variety of ducks, geese, and other feathered friends tend to take over some of the park. Read moreBy far, one of the prettier parks in so cal. The lake is sprawling, into little bays, and an upper level that drops down via a waterfall, which also aerates the water for the fish. Plenty of park benches, but bring a portable chair if you want to fish statically by the shore. There's plenty of trees for shade. It is in a good area with many ethnicities and everybody gets along, and there are no racists and gangsters here. The walk paths go around the park, reaching the Sports Complex and Coyote Creek, which goes on for miles if you want to hike further. This is an ideal place for runners, cyclists and walkers. There are five baseball diamonds that I can see, snack bar and lots of playgrounds for the kids. There is a skatepark, tennis courts and pickleball courts. There is an olympic swimming pool and a 6ft. deep wading pool. It's a haven on the weekdays, but crowded on weekends. The fishing is good after it gets stocked. This is the safest park that I have been to. Just be on the lookout where you step..bird droppings are all along the lake shore. The grassy areas may have dog feces. Overall, it is the best...
