ABBOTT'S FLORIST — Attraction in Champaign

After the tragic death of a young man whose grandparents coached a sports team at our school, a collection was taken up to order flowers for the services. Given that the young man was from a town almost an hour away and not having any personal contacts there to ask, choosing a florist made me a bit apprehensive. After reading reviews and browsing websites, I settled on Abbott's and I am so grateful I did.

When I called to place the order, the saleswoman was polite, unhurried and seemed sensitive to the situation. I told her I had a budget of $100 excluding tax & fees, and requested colors representative of our school team. She made several suggestions and I told her I deferred to her good judgement. (Another good choice.) She assured me they would make something we would be happy with--and we were.

If it weren't uncouth, I would've snapped a picture of the beautiful arrangement on a tripod stand--that perfectly mixed the blue, yellow, white colors I requested. Having reviewed other websites, I cannot believe such a beautiful piece was delivered for the price I paid. I would've easily thought it cost at least $25-35 more, if I did not know. Other team member families commented that the flowers were 'perfect.'

I am not from the Champaign area but when my grandfather passed away I was chosen to pick a floral arrangement on behalf of the 20+ grandchildren. This was my first experience with this type of arrangement. I started looking online, but really was not comfortable ordering flowers so important on the internet.

While in Champaign with my mom doing some finalization for the service, my sister and I visited Abbott's Florist and met with Erin. She made us feel so comfortable, having never did this before and gave me excellent advice. She made me feel very confident and understand the importance of my decision. I was concerned and really wanted the flowers to be right. I even spoke with Erin the next day to ensure I was ordering the right thing.

*Update- Less than 24 hrs after posting this I was contacted to make sure they could fix the issue. Lisa was extremely helpful and offered to send out another bouquet right away. She was polite, apologetic, and helpful. The bouquet that was re-delivered was beautiful. I would definitely recommend using this floral shop!

I ordered a bouquet for my mom’s birthday. The lady on the phone was very nice and it was delivered in a timely manner. However, the bouquet that was delivered did not look like what I ordered. It looked as if someone hurriedly threw the arrangement together and didn’t even care to take the time to make it look appealing.
