Brookshire's — Attraction in Chandler

Very disappointed in brookshire's bakery. Worse cake ever! And it was for a special 80th bday. I was stuck having to get it bc of time wise in needing it. Paid $30 for this awful cake.

I called them on 2/10 to order a bday cake. The lady who I spoke with rudely said "I don't know if we have time to do that. I have to answer my decorator." Place on hold for several minutes. She came back and said "we are too busy we have been decorating for valentine and dipping strawberries all day. It was have to be very basic cake no decorations." I just said forget it I'll figure something else out.

So I figured I would just stop by the store pick out a pre decorate cake and have the write on it. No luck with that. The cakes were not very pretty or well decorated and just odd colors that didn't match.

I walked to the counter and ask the ladies that were there if it be possible for me to order a birthday cake for pick up on Saturday. Once again I was told they were just "too busy to decorate a cake , they have been dipping strawberries all day , had ni time to decorate a cake, that they were leaving at 3 and no one will be there to to take care of the order".

Obviously they saw my frustration. Then one of them told the other " just go ahead and take her order I'll do it. She started taking things out to make the cake " I was asked what colors I want it on the cake. Told her I wasn't picky any colors would be fine to make it look pretty with lots of flowers and rose's and write happy 80th birthday. I said thank you for doing this and left.

When I got there on 2/11 to pick up cake. It was solid white with happy 80 written on it. NO COLOR NO ROSE'S or FLOWERS! It looked like a pre school kid wrote on the cake.

The lady who was there apologize for this issue. She offered to take cake and added what flowers she could. It wasn't really a flower but she tired. So I am thankful for her kindness in trying to make the cake look better.

However I am very displeased with the service I received from this original order. Telling me there were too busy to take a bday cake order. It was just a simple small cake with roses. Not like I was asking for a special decoration. Not a good experience with the bakery. Plus that's their job. At least I assumed it was.

Will be finding another store to shop from even if it means going to Tyler. VERY UPSET about multiple things.. so firstly let’s start with produce rotting on the shelf with flies everywhere, and molded fruits almost every fruit on the shelf from strawberries, raspberries,watermelon, blue berries, and even have found the bagged of shredded ice berg lettuce is solid BROWN and still sitting on the shelves. Not to mention being pregnant and finding help to lift 4 cases of 32 bottles of waters onto my cart and my car both while multiple buggy pushers sat around talking to one another! Even had a gentleman watching me struggling to get it into my cart but continued to talk to one another. When I worked for brookshires 3 years ago we were expected to grab every buggy we saw, and now it’s not that big of a deal right? But yet our elders are struggling to load their groceries as well as multiple pregnant woman who NEED THE HELP!! THIS IS EVERYTIME I GO TO BROOKSHIRES I DONT GET HELP UNLESS I HAVE 2 BAGS, I will gladly take my business elsewhere to make sure I get the help I need instead of workers standing around talking including the managers and watching me struggle or watching our...

I’m not sure what’s going on with Brookeshire’s lately but two separate times I’ve bought bread checked it out before I put it in the cart and the next day it’s covered in mold. Today we got deli cheese and instead of being stacked nicely like normal it was stacked haphazardly and then kind of water it up and shoved in the bag so it’s a whole bunch of small pieces of cheese everywhere. The quality of the food and the care of the employees is really going downhill and I’m not sure why because last I knew Brookshire’s paid its employees pretty well. Please do better. 2/27/2025 - My wife bought velveeta shells and cheese there today and made it for dinner tonight. The cheese looks like MRE cheese out of the pouch - gritty and solid. She melted it down and it doesn’t taste right / half the flavor of the normal velvets in the box and it tastes like it has a ton of flour in it. It’s so bad she threw hers out.
