First the good news...no more Bayjo bucks to buy food and drink ... you can use cash... now the bad news ... and there is a lot of it...not nearly as many food venders as in the past... only two vendors for beer and wine and if you don't like Bud or Goose Island forget it...and the lines are looooong...MUSIC... the main draw on the main stage yesterday was Los Lobos and is was a disaster to say the least... the sound was messed up from the start...someone or something was feeding back with annoying squeals throughout half of their performance... one of the singers was off key most of the time...it seems the drummer and keyboard player were the only ones that had their stuff together and the video which was supposed to show what was going on using the big screen had no idea who was playing the leads or lead singing...very frustrating to say the least...TEN STRINGS AND A GOAT SKIN were delegated to one show this year and in a tent instead of the main stage---they put on a GREAT show which is evidence of their touring Europe, Canada, etc with almost continuous shows--lots of energy and perfection in playing very difficult tunes...COST--$70 per person per day is just too much unless they are going to provide up to date well known stars on the stage...all in all I don't know if we will be coming back next year...we have been going since the 90s when it was at Escoheag and a much more friendly and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve camped here about six times at this festival. There is always a mix of the type of music at this festival. Some rock some blues some Cajun and some bluegrass. This festival gets quite crowded during the day when the general public buys tickets and comes in to watch as well. Plenty of room for everyone this is a huge park. It is a no alcohol park but some people have learned how to be discreet about it. Few more vendors unusual this year but I will say the food vendors are quite expensive not to say their food isnāt good. Food seems to run anywhere is from nine dollars up to $30. Will expensive if youāre a big eater like me. Or have a family where there are no pizza hotdogs or simple foods available. And ice cream will cost you $10 a chowder nine dollars or a stuffed baked potato $12. Just some of your choices. I would like to see a little more shuttle service from the camping area as it gets to be a long walk from the backside of the campground. The camping area gets quite congested and be careful if theyāre calling for thunderstorms because there are a lot of low areas there and it does flood including parts of the parking lot. So select wisely and stay on your higher ground if possible. Overall it was a nice fun...
