Booked the 16 week package at Harmony Church in the early 80s. From the moment we arrived the concierge was very rude and gave everyone a bunch of attitude. The mattresses were awful, the sheets were scratchy, and don't even get me started on the food. I knew I should have booked that Aviation Camp instead on the first day. When we arrived, the maid service hadn't finished with our rooms or something, because we had to stand in the rain for nearly an hour. That's when the concierge got really nasty and started telling us all the things we were going to do for him. I thought he was supposed to accommodate us, boy was I mistaken. The whole thing was strangely reminiscent of a World War II prisoner of war camp. The cleaning staff was so absent during our stay we had to pick up after ourselves. Needless to say, I didn't leave a tip for the maid when we left. The guests also had to take turns with food prep, which I especially disliked. Worst of all, there was no latitude in choosing the excursions that we participated in away from the resort. Everything was pre-planned and mandatory. On the plus side, the staff that ran the excursions were generally very nice and professional. I learned a lot of life lessons while at the resort. I learned that Eskimo women have a cooler than normal internal temperature, my girlfriend was hanging out with a guy named Jody, that blood makes the grass grow, and that if Jack and Jill both go to the top of the hill and each have a $1.25...Jill is coming back with $2.50. I never really figured out what that meant, but they seemed pretty adamant about it. The really nefarious part of the program is when they sat you down in the timeshare style meeting and told you if you followed the rules and did what they said you could get another three and a half years for free at exotic locations all over the world. I had no idea Ft. Campbell was such a highly sought-after travel destination. Who knew? My trip had its ups and downs, but I would still recommend it to a friend.

I literally JUST found out about the name change from Ft. Benning, to Ft. Moore. I was born here back in 1979 at Martin Army hospital. When my family returned from Berlin back in 1990, we were stationed back to Ft. Benning at the “White House” with the school in the back until we were placed in our living quarters. We lived at 4-D Fouce Ct. on the corner in a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath townhome, if my memory serves me right. I remember the schools, my old friends, the PX, OH! And the canyons where we would explore and ride bikes. It was really a beautiful place, and was a very clean and safe community. I thank God for the memories and a chance to experience this life. RIP to my dad. SSG Gary W. Woodruff. (b.1955-d 1992) I included pictures of my dad and my family while stationed in Ft. Benning. (I’m in the middle)😊

Is this post beautiful? Yes. It's historical and I love history like that. -The post is beyond over crowded. The housing is a joke. There are wait lists for 2+ years. At our previous post your rank had nothing to do with where you lived. If you had a large family, you were put into a house that fit your family. We had no wait list issue. We got a house that fit us 2 weeks after applying. -The medical care is frightening. You can get an appointment to see your doctor, in several months. Sick? Gotta go sit in the ER or go to urgent care. -I had a sleep study done 4 months ago, and guess what? I have heard nothing from my doctor. I have inquired about it twice. The response is they don't have the results. I spoke with the sleep study center, they sent them. Still nothing from doctor on that. Let's hope I don't die in my sleep because I do have sleep apnea and I was severe. -I needed paperwork filled out by my doctor for my job. Work sent it, doctor says I don't have it. I go to clinic in person bc I was going to lose my job without this. I inquire about it with work on phone while talking to the lady at the clinic desk, who was awesome btw. Confirming fax number and being the middle man. Guess what? The original paperwork was there the whole time, even though doctor claimed he didn't have it. It was found at the bottom of his assistant's box. Sat there for over a month. 😐😤 Just to make sure he filled it out and actually sent it I waited there at the clinic to get a confirmation from my job that they received it. I feel like I should have been getting paid for all of that. -If I want my sleep study equipment. If I want to know what this lump on my forearm is, I'm going to have to go and go between the ultrasound dept and sleep study clinic to my doctors office clinic and get the results myself. Because the clinic sure isn't going to do it. -I had an ultrasound done on my arm March 14th. It's April 12th. No word, nothing. -My youngest child needed an appointment for issues he's been having. I called to get one. Lady says let me look. Nothing was available immediately. So, she says let me put you on hold and look into the future. Few minutes later she comes back, there's nothing even in the future. You will just have to call us back until you get one. 🤔😐 After calling in late February, I went into their clinic for immunizations which is separate from well visits and I was able to get my youngest an appointment on April 23rd. You know because 2 months later is ideal to them I guess. Luckily his issues aren't life threatening. At least not to my knowledge they aren't. -Healthcare is not the area you should be lacking in. I had the best doctor I've ever had, and she was at fort Campbell. Matter of fact I had 2 doctors there. The first pcs'ed and she was amazing. The doctor who replaced her, amazing. So, I know that its possible to get amazing healthcare support. The doctor I was seeing here his answer to everything is lose weight. Hey I hate to break it to you there guy but I had these issues before I gained weight. LOL Not even kidding. I have an auto immune disease and it isn't going to go away by losing 15 pounds. The pain and daily struggles aren't there because of weight. I bet you're all thinking I'm some insanely obese person too. Unfortunately I have to burst that dream bubble too. I'm not. I gained weight from medicines I was on for the auto immune disease and currently working those back off. I would give just about anything to have my doctor team from campbell back. -I mean I seen a sign for best installation award and I about fell out of my car? Who voted for that? The people who thrive here aren't the under dogs and I'm guessing it was the top dogs who voted that. -The people who are employed to work in places like the commissary, px, dunkin donuts etc, are just there's no other way to put it, mean. Rude. Disgusting customer service. I don't know how they get away with it either. I can't speak for the military/soldier experience. I'm a civilian and I only have experiences...

Gate and road closures everywhere. No clear signage. If you are not from here, easy to get lost around base. Used Google maps and was guided to Ft. Benning road entrance and found it closed while returning my recruit on time after his day leave with his family making him 22 minutes late. As A graduate of NTC Great Lakes and father of A graduate of Ft. Jackson SC, I have to admit that Ft. Benning GA needs to get it's act together when it comes to planning clear routes of entry for families visiting from out of state. Furthermore, after Having to park my new vehicle in an unmowed muddy field filled with rocks and having to watch women and children navigate up to 25 yards through weeds half A foot high. I realized early in the day that those who planned this event really did not take the time to pay attention to detail for all the hard work these fine recruits have endured over the past 14 weeks. They started the Blue cord event over A half hour late this morning. That being said, when I finally figured out on my own how to get on base after trying 3 ways, my son had to be barked at by an instructor in the parking lot in front of his mother and 2 year old brother as if their poor planning was his...
