Stringers Ridge Park — Attraction in Chattanooga

Closest trail to hike and Mtn bike with forest near downtown, basically in downtown. Do not recommend going right after a big rain unless you don’t care about mud on your shoes etc. It has a beautiful overlook not too far from the Spears Ave. trailhead. It is very hilly so if you are out of shape may want to take it slow and bring some water! They have markings for which way bikers and hikers are supposed to face depending on the days of the week. Definitely a trail to stay alert on cause of the different activities, hills, and lots of tree roots, so watch your steps! Great place for hiking and mountain biking. Trails are single track and shared with hikers and bikers. Check signs for path direction. Has a wonderful downtown overlook that is a short 10 minute hiked on main paved trail. Please note it is uneven paved. Gets extremely muddy after hard rains.

Absolutely worth a visit. Lots of trails. The park area where the parking lot is has restrooms but they have always been closed the four times I've been there. The parking lot and picnic area has always been littered and trashy. But the trails have always been perfectly litter-free, well maintained and absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend.
