Don’t do it! This is by far The most poorly managed apartment complex in Chattanooga Tennessee. To say that the office staff is incompetent is an understatement! With each new manager comes a new saga of drama for the tenants. I had mold in my apartment the air filters were not changed in two years. Not only did I have mold roaches and God knows what else that I didn’t see but the mold in the wall where water was pouring in from the upstairs apartment made me sick. I was assured that this was repaired only to find months later that the ceiling was falling in in multiple areas of apartment. I went to doctor three times and have documentation saying the BLACK MOLD made me experience severe respiratory issues. I know it was black mold because I had it tested in a local school lab where the professor used the sample as a teaching tool. It was absolutely black mold! Not only was it in ceiling but was in entire wall in living room. I have contacted my attorney and will be following up on this matter. Especially considering they told me that they had already rented my mold filled apartment so I needed to hurry and get out in the middle of a pandemic! I lived here for over two years and in that time period upgraded from one bedroom to a two bedroom then back to a one bedroom which they charged me almost the exact rent I had paid for two bedroom. Any tenant that renews lease gets screwed. They raise the rent EVERY TIME you renew. It does not pay to renew your lease so do not plan on making it a home because they would rather have a revolving door of college students than long term renters. This was absolutely the most miserable living situation that I have ever experienced! They threatened to evict some people during the pandemic and not others. They charged late fees to some but not others. During a pandemic! They could care less about there tenants. They went through at least three managers in two years. The first of which called me berating me about my dog when the maintenance men came to do some work they had said I had a dog. A dog that was CLEARLY listed on my lease from the second I applied and moved in. She didn’t realize this while she got smart with me accusing me of having an unauthorized pet. When I explain he was on my lease not an apology not oh “my mistake” nothing never heard from her again! Then almost six months pass without a manager at all. Then the last and final manager was as rude and non caring as the first. Clueless! If I could give negative stars I would! So don’t do it!! You can move to brand new place downtown for less! They might even have competent management!
Update: they are now trying to sue me due to this review. For damages that where already in apartment when I moved and damages there maintenance men made while replacing one of the walls in this apartment. Save yourself A lot of trouble and never ever...
Read moreI have enjoyed the community aspect of Ridgemont a lot since I have moved here, and a lot of thought came before writing this. Depending on who you get at the leasing office (Jay for example is great) you can have a good experience there too. However I do have three negative points that should be conveyed for anyone looking to live there. Maintenance. I know they recently had a turnover with maintenance staff so not trying to speak too poorly of the guys who just came on, since this happened with previous staff. I have multiple service requests that I was told there were work orders in for already since I have moved in. Broken garbage disposal, microwave falling apart, and a barely functional dishwasher. None have been addressed. I get there’s a turnover in staff and transitions can be messy but like…come on. Wait times like that may fly at a busy Chili’s but not my home. Amenities. As a complex there are several wonderful amenities that I am sure would be great to use if they were available. The pool was GREAT until it broke during the season and at the rate this is going I’m starting to doubt that it will be ready in time for the next season. The fire pits seem nice but they have yet to be serviced and made available since I moved in back in June. That’s been real unfortunate given that it’s cold out now. The gym rarely is stocked with disinfecting wipes for cleaning off the equipment which can be kind of gross. It’s one of those things that kind of boils down to “you’re paying for the home and the services but heads up there are no services”. Paying for services we can’t use is a bit much. Packages. They have you sign up for a secure parcel pending service, provide these really fancy lockboxes for packages. And yet every single time I’ve had to go to the post office to pick up packages that could not be delivered due to there not being a secure place to drop it off. Even the post office guys say it’s ridiculous. The front office does not accept packages anymore which is fine but please solve the issue with your parcel boxes at that point.
In short, it’s decent here but I believe service/quality no longer matches up with the price. Open to being proven wrong though, but won’t...
Read moreSince my last update, from a now deleted review, management has changed THANKFULLY. Not only is it evident in the demeanor of some of the staff, but there have been SUCH improvements on the grounds of the property as well. First off, the best decision Greystar made was hiring Jay, now she is the Assistant Property Manager, so BIG claps that all her hard work, empathy, and care for this community is being recognized. As the majority of my review was the continuous issues with the pool closure(s). Not only is the pool open, in working order, and able to be used, it is IMMACULATE. It is well maintained, CLEAN, I've seen the maintenance team check the chemical levels many times. Speaking of the maintenance team, Chris has been nothing but helpful and truly thoughtful when it comes to this community. He gets the work orders done in a timely manner, but also completes the job and makes sure that everything in a given living space is up and running. Not only that, but he knew how important the pool is to many of us that live here. Every time there's a big group of residents at the pool, there's most likely a volleyball game going on, and he treated the pool goers to a brand new volleyball net and water volleyballs. It was really a change of attitude given the previous management style, and so refreshing. I would also like to add the safety aspects that have been upgraded here. The old wooden stairs leading to the dog park have been replaced making them much safer on rainy days, they have added mats to the restroom area adjacent to the pool and workout area to prevent slips and falls, and they have redone some concrete that has been needing to be replaced for sometime, and it looks like they may be improving even more sections of concrete. While this property has given me much headache in the past, due to management alone, it has also given me some of the best memories with one of the best communities I've ever had the pleasure of being apart of. I am so happy to say that I am proud to be a resident here, and I am glad I stayed through the bad experiences here, in order to get to these days of peaceful living, helpful and kind property staff, working amenities, and...
