Unfortunately, I will never return to this dog park again. I am extremely disappointed because my dog Eli loves to come here. I have a 2 yr old Boston Terrier who is sweet, kind and gentle and never has any issues with other dogs until today. We were leaving the park and 2 Boxers came in one was a senior Boxer and the other was younger, possibly 4 or 5 yrs old. The younger boxer attacked my dog jumped on top of him barked growled extremely loud in an aggressive manner and traumatized my dog. This went on for 10 minutes. I was able to pull my dog away and when I did he was shaking and in distress. My dog simply greeted them and sniffed them when they came in and received a horrible attack to a point where I thought for sure I was taking a trip to the Emergency room. Luckily, my dog was not hurt and I am completely shocked he is in one piece. The owners of the viscous Boxer did not know how to handle their dog at all and said to me these things happen all the time. I disagree, this shouldn't happen ever if you handle your dog properly. The logical move and only thing to do was to leash their dog and remove him physically from being on top of my dog, which was NOT done. I am reporting this incident to the town as I am furious and disgusted at how this was handled. I understand altercations happen and dogs growl at each other however this was a vicious action and a horrifying scene that everyone witnessed. I have never been so upset and literally spend my day crying and in trauma. I will be taking this to...
Read moreI am new to this park and have wonderful experiences! This past weekend however, I hadn't been there even 5 minutes and a woman was feeding my dog a treat. Some dogs, like people have allergies for one thing. You could, by handing out treats of any kind, make a dog sick or even cause death! Secondly,, many dogs are food aggressive. Bringing tteats/food is simply asking for trouble! Before I could say anything to her, another dog wearing a "PLEASE DO NOT PET" harness, (I noticed him/her as we arrived as he/she growled at us through the fence!!), suddenly went after my dog in a very aggressive manner. I yelled, very loudly and thankfully stopped the "interaction". The owner, who was sitting in the shade several yards away, never even moved, except to say his dog's name, (barely audibly). When asked by a woman if his dog was friendly he responded, "Yah, he likes other dogs." All of this happened in less than 6 minutes and sadly I decided to leave. My dog isn't perfect and anyone who thinks their own is, is kidding themselves. They're wild animals at their core. It's our job to help make them the best and happiest they can be. I realize the park can't be monitored at all times. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful place to take our dogs! I hate to think that a few irresponsible people can ruin it for those who follow the rules and do the right thing. The vast majority of people and dogs have been so friendly and nice, and that's as...
Read moreGreat place as long as the guy that thinks he's the park overlord isn't there. Constantly giving people a hard time while his dog runs around collarless and aggressive with other dogs. More concerned with flexing his role in the park on other people than watching his own dog. If we see him we leave. He ruins a great experience for a lot of good dogs and owners.
Response: giving a ten year old kid a hard time for sitting on the tires. Not playing on them, sitting Or when he was running with his dog and he grabbed a pole you have to tell him it's not a toy in a disrespectful manner? I understand rules there's times to say things, it would be nice if it was in a respectful manner. We haven't seen any respect from this individual. Especially towards women and children. It's an arrogant flex of authority That's unnecessary. Simple polite communication goes a long way.
Under the rules: all dogs must wear current licenses. How does a dog wear these...
