"Baumann Park: Where Nature Meets Comedy (and My Fitness Goals Go to Die)"
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Listen up, outdoor enthusiasts and professional couch potatoes! Let me tell you about Baumann Park - the 90+ acre slice of heaven where my attempt at becoming a fitness influencer met its hilarious demise.
First off, this place is more well-maintained than my New Year's resolutions[6]. With a 1.25-mile paved trail that's flatter than my attempts at humor, it's perfect for those of us who consider "outdoor adventure" as anything beyond walking to the mailbox[3].
The lake is stocked with bass, northern pike, and bluegill[6] - basically an all-you-can-miss fishing experience for those of us whose fishing skills rival our cooking abilities (nonexistent). Pro tip: the fish are probably laughing at your bait choices, but at least the scenery is gorgeous.
The Good Stuff: Baseball field more pristine than my dating history[6] Tennis courts with lights (because failing at sports is better after dark)[6] Playground where kids have more energy than my morning coffee Picnic areas cleaner than my apartment before unexpected guests
The "Complaints" (If You Can Call Them That): Path so beautiful I actually forgot I was exercising[4] Lake views so distracting I walked the loop three times by accident Too many perfect picnic spots to choose from Gazebo more photogenic than my Instagram filters[6]
Pro Tips: Visit during "Music in the Park" events - where nature meets culture, and I pretend to know classical music[6] Bring a fishing license unless you want to explain yourself to conservation officers No swimming allowed (my dignity thanks them for this rule)[6]
Bottom line: Baumann Park is where outdoor activities meet perfect landscaping, and where my attempts at being one with nature actually worked out for once. Just remember - the park closes at dusk, probably to prevent people like me from trying to become nocturnal wildlife photographers.
P.S. - If you see someone talking to the fish about their life problems, no judgment. We've all been there.

Read moreGood park but somebody has to change the hours online i just had a bad scare with my pregnant wife we were star gazing on a bench on top of the little hill, officer came by, we came down, i tried to show him my phone to show him why i did my mistake, he got all defensive yelling telling me to back off, that he didnt know what my intentions were, that he wasnt sure what i had on my hands which by the way was a fishing rod on one and my phone on the other, i kept repeating him that we were sorry since my wife just came to the states a few months ago, so i had to translate what was going on and i dont know if the officer felt like i was saying something i shouldnt when i was translating for my wife, but i felt horrible when he was treating me like a low life criminal infront of my 4month pregnant wife, i did the mistake because i was under the impression that this hours on this schedule were right but i searched the cherry valley web page and it specifies from dawn to dusk which is not even close to 11 pm around this time of the year, so please can somebody change it to where it says from dawn to dusk so that other people dont do the same mistake we did and get in trouble for it thank you other than that it a...
Read moreBeautiful park tucked away in Cherry Valley! The lake has beautiful clear water and lots of areas to fish from the bank, which is good because they do not allow boats or kayaks on the lake. The fishing is good, lots of panfish the kids would enjoy catching. They have decent bass and catfish too. The sign says there are pike but I have yet to see one. They do stock trout every year too! I have seen a perch but only once.
If you do not like fishing there is a playground for kids, a path around the lake, and there are gazebos, picnic tables, and, benches along it as well. Have yourself a nice picnic/meal with The family or a date. They have bathrooms and out houses too.
The river is on the other side of the lakes parking lot. You can catch fish, and some summer days you can see tubers and kayakers coming down the river.
So if you are in the area, check this park out and enjoy a...
