Wasn't impressed at all - the only saving grace, in my opinion, was that the Lumberjack Skillet that I ordered was actually quite tasty. Besides that, it's totally lacking in ambience; my server - an older women, maybe in her 60's, I'm guessing, was kinda lackluster personality-wise; took at least half an hour to get my food; the syrup dispenser wasn't even wiped down; there was still a trickle of syrup on the side; wasn't asked once how I was doing or if I needed anything - and the constant doorbell sound every time someone walked in was kinda off-putting. And they seemed to be having a problem with their phone service - me and another customer, both with different phone carriers, couldn't get through with their phone number. It would ring 6 times and then the call would automatically be ended - tried three times; once while inside the restaurant. So overall, you might say that I wouldn't recommend it,...

Stopped here for breakfast while driving back home to Chicago. The service we got from Tammy was excellent, and the owner made a point to talk with us, not to mention that any staff member who walked by asked how we were doing! THAT is exceptional service! The food was also amazing. I had the homemade corned beef bag omlette, and the corned beef was so tender, flavorful, lean, and NOT salty. They show cook it in the oven for about 4 to 6 hours and it shows. They also make their own hot sauce that was phenomenal! It had smoked Chipotle peppers in it, and the flavor was so good that I put that s#@t on everything (way better than Franks lol). It had a nice even heat, with a ton of flavor, I bought 2 bottles, and now i wish I bought more! Thank you for such an awesome experience, and I hope to...

Great place for breakfast. Very nice and friendly customer service, delicious food at a reasonable price. We ordered an omelette and a skillet and our food arrived very quickly and it tasted delicious. I highly recommend this place and I plan to return for their special Friday fish fry. Revision: and we did return last Friday for the fish fry, which was delicious by the way. Highly recommend it and the salmon was also good as was the shrimp dishes we ordered. Our server was very nice and our dishes didn’t take long to come hot and steamy from the kitchen. And we get a chance to talk to Ben, the owner of this lovely family owned business. We’re looking forward to another visit once we are back in the area. And we are now back having tilapia and cod, fish fry, delicious, worth a trip to this...

Update 12/29: Well, I gave them a second chance to redeem themselves for lunch and well…gross. Unless you like hospital or senior living food. —————————————————————— I'm from Kirkland and decided to visit the neighboring towns diner. First impressions are everything, so not too very friendly at walk-in. Coffee was a bit weak, hash browns came back soggy after we expressed to them extra crispy or crispy, over medium eggs that weren't really over medium, My English muffin wasn't even really toasted but I may give it a second chance for them. My mother's order, same thing, eggs and hash browns undercooked and not made to order, and her toast were burnt on one side. Kirkland's diner was better by far. I may just stick to Kirkland.

We had been on the road for awhile and our stomachs were telling us, "isn't it time for breakfast." We pulled into the next small town looking for a "Café". We turned the corner and found "Cherry Valley Café ". It is bright and cheery. Our waitress was Tammy. She was took our order, answered all our questions and made recommendations. I had a hash browns bowl which was cooked just as I imagined it should be. There was soooooo much it was hard to finish. My wife had Very Berry French toast. There was enough for breakfast and lunch. Ben checked on us to make sure everything was okay, which it was.

Out of the two meals that I bought to try something new breakfast from another local establishment. I was so disappointed by both that I'm going to cook my own breakfast. The biscuits from the biscuits and gravy were grainy, the country fried steak looks and tastes like a hamburger patty that was breaded, and not machine tenderized steak that's been breaded properly. The mashed potatoes came in an ice cream scoop and tasted inconsistently mixed made from a box. I cannot in good faith recommend this place. Attached is a picture of everything that I threw away.
