The buildings here are well taken care of after being saved from demolition for new development of the land they formerly stood on. I was at the open house they have on the weekend and the volunteers that they had were helpful in showing what life was like and in informing people about the history of the buildings. It is also nice to just walk through it. While you do that there is an online guide to the buildings on the County Park website that is interesting.

This tiny village of homes and buildings (in Faust Park in Chesterfield) from the 1850+ shows the simplicity of life and its fundamental agrarian nature. Sadly none of the buildings are open to view, so you miss the most important part of life in this era. Nonetheless, a pleasant stroll through days gone by.

This "village" is a collection of old buildings, most of which were donated to the St. Louis County Parks and relocated from various places around St. Louis. They include houses, a school building, a barn, a blacksmith shop, and other structures. Makes for a fun stroll.

This village is good to visit when it's open and visitors can see the interiors and contents of the buildings. Kudos to the people who manage Faust Park and their commitment to saving these historic buildings. It takes a lot of work to move these buildings from wherever they've been standing to the Park, and I'm sure the people responsible don't get thanked nearly enough. (It's also possible to walk through the village and look in the windows when the buildings aren't open...
