Reasonably well maintained historic home owned by Missouri Gov. Bates in 1850. Unfortunately the interior is only open on occasions, but it's quite interesting. The grounds include the home, the separate kitchen building and several outbuildings.

First time visiting, and it’s a pretty cool historic spot that gives you a glimpse of old-school life. It’s part of the trail that leads down toward the river and crosses over to the other side of the park.

Very nice park with a playground and short hiking trail. Butterfly house is located here along with the old carousel. The trail isn't difficult and it's well maintained. Very scenic.

Very cool. Been waiting a long time to get a look inside this place, so it was exciting to finally happen. But I've got a thing about old houses. And I got lucky with a very knowledgeable docent. It's worth a visit. Besides, even if it's closed, there's always the butterfly house, carousel, the historic village, and Governor Bates trail (yes, it really is moderately difficult and for the at least semi-fit). Faust Park is one of the...

This is a nicely maintained home of Frederick Bates, Governor of Missouri in the 1820s. Tours are offered occasionally and are worth it if you have the time, as the house has some interesting history. The staff are clearly passionate about the house and eager to share its story with anyone who...
