This is a very nice, clean & family friendly park, with something for everyone! Still haven't seen it all yet, but am looking forward to see the rest. Attended my Grandson's Birthday Party this weekend and it was Perfect in every way except One...we had a brief heavy rain downpour and the Whole Cemented Floor of the (Rented) park pavillion shelter, flooded at least 3-4" high. There is no type of drainage system and as you could imagine, we had wrapped & unwrapped gifts, purses, our shoes, (just to name a few of the many personal items) that were sitting on the cement floor. The water was moving onto the cement fast but luckily, we were able to act quickly when we saw the water starting to roll in and were able to contain & move 'most' of our things up onto to the couple of picnic tables that had some empty places leftover, so we didn't have too much damage done. We were still able to continue with the party, the rain cleared, help to cool things a wee tiny bit, Lol... but the floor stayed flooded for a long while after the rain stopped & was still damp hours later, when we left. I certainly hope the other pavilion shelters in the park don't have the same situation, because if so...take note to keep your belongings up high & off of the shelter floors or they may get ruined. Hopefully the park will see this and find a way to resolve this problem. Other than that, we...
Read moreThis is a beautiful park in the heart of Carrollwood Village. It has something for everyone. There is a paved path for walking or biking surrounding a pond with a bridge across the middle of it. There is a skateboard park, an obstacle course, a splash pad, and a playground. There are restrooms and water fountains around the park.
There's also an amphitheater but I'm not sure what it's used for. It would be the perfect place for family-friendly concerts- bluegrass or folk music would be really nice.
The playground has some really cool features and the kids love it. It does get busy on weekends to the point where it can be kind of overwhelming. It's truly a great playground for kids of all ages. There is ample shaded seating surrounding the playground.
The splash pad is a great addition. There is shaded seating around the splash pad that provides a clear view of the entire area. It's completely fenced in to provide peace of mind that your toddler won't suddenly dash into the parking lot.
There tends to be a pretty bad smell lingering around the park at all times from the water treatment facility that's connected to the park. All the kids areas are in direct sunlight so you definitely need to consider...
Read moreUsed to love going to this park especially the small dog area until recently my sister and I experienced two rude older ladies who frequent here. My sister is a single mother and she brought her younger children in the park as her cousin has a small dog. She has been there over 20 times and has never had an issue with her children being with her. Well i guess today some ladies woke up on the wrong side of the bed & decided to scold my sister for bringing her children in the park with her. Mind you she is a SINGLE MOTHER, and these ladies proceeded to bully & humiliate my sister in front of others because she brought her kids in there and said it’s a liability if they get hurt. My sister politely apologized and left but these woman continued to laugh and say sarcastic nasty things to her. We used to love this park but not because of the treatment from those who go here we no longer will be going to this park and I will be sure to tell others not to go as well! We don’t wish to be surrounded or subjected to such negativity when we are just trying to enjoy...
