My husband and I are originally from New York and we know good bagels. We were highly referred to this location so we decided to drive out on Saturday. When we got there, we noticed they were almost out of bagels and it was packed. The kids working behind the counter were working quite slowly and they were incredibly rude to their boss. We ordered four things. When heading to the restroom to wash our hands, we noticed their croissants are from Sam's Club (not fresh in house). When we placed our order, the Owner said he is from Chicago not New York. He was nice but it took him 11 minutes to collect our payment as he was busy dealing with drama after drama with staff. They were also rushing because they needed to close early (something that other Reviewers have noticed is a theme). After we ordered, we waited and waited and waited and waited and waited. We watched as the staff stood, starring into space and working so incredibly slowly or not at all. The kids look like they are 12 years old and they are obnoxious to their boss and to the customers. Other reviewers say that this guy is rude to his staff but I think there are two sides to the story. Yes, he should have control of his staff and he should not allow them to dilly dally or talk back to him or customers. But, these kids - who the heck do they think they are? One of them called me a name because I asked her what was in the lox spread. They told me it was just cream cheese and lox but when our order was finally ready, there were chives or scallions in it as well. Perhaps, you should make sure to give people the proper information - hello, allergies! The bagels are subpar and there was too much schmear on the bagel toppings. I do not care if the man in charge is the biggest jerk out there, children should respect people senior to them. Perhaps, they should take a little break, close the place, go on vacation and start again with a new staff. But, I am not sue we will go back anytime soon because there was so much drama there. All of the customers were talking about it and that is never good. It is a shame though because Tampa Bay really does need a good NY bagel place (and not the...
Read moreFound this lil spot here on Google. And OMG I'm so glad I did! I'm originally from Jersey and it's hard to find a good place that reminds me of the spots from my hometown. I mean it shouldn't be hard to make a simple breakfast sandwich with a good tasting bagel and not have to pay $12 for it, right!?!? Well this place has that! It's super affordable, taste fantastic, coffee is excellent and their customer service was friendly. The breakfast sandwich I had was an Asiago Cheese bagel with bacon, egg n cheese. The bagel itself wasn't overly doughie, it was crispy on the edges and nice n buttery soft on the inside. Bacon was thick and crisp! Not overly burnt but not undercooked either. There was a perfect amount of cheese and I can honestly say, It was perfection! 👌Haven't had a great tasting breakfast sandwich like this in a long time. Overall, the taste, price n staff made this place an excellent choice for anyone. Grant it I went during the week at about 10am so it wasn't crowded at all. I have seen ppl on here mention that their wait on the weekends are crazy. BUT guess what!? That should be a good thing, that means it's good!!! Just give yourself extra time if you go on the weekend and I'm sure you'll be just fine. 😅 The food will make it all worth it at the end. I don't see how anyone can take stars off because of that. Just go and enjoy this great lil breakfast and you'll thank...
Read moreThis place feels just like a New York bagel shop, the decorations, the attitude of the employees, and the line to order all made me feel like I was back in the city. That was fun. I also think the prices are very reasonable.
I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese croissant (photo included) and it was phenomenal. 10 out of 10. Everything I wanted. They did microwave the egg and cheese, but I don't think they have the kitchen for cooking those in the oven.
We also got a blueberry bagel with honey strawberry spread, and the bagel was burnt, it was so hard I thought I was going to crack a tooth, and it mostly tasted like garlic and salt, so I think whoever prepared the bagel was handling a different bagel beforehand and didn't clean their hands. Also, there was no honey in the honey strawberry spread. While I was in line I saw another man come up and say they didn't give him any honey and they had to add it for him. I ordered to go so I didn't realize that I didn't get any until I was already in the car.
I'm rating four stars because it might have just been an off day and the croissant was...
