We purchased tickets to a concert 5 months ago and picked up our tickets at will-call the night of the show. When we arrived at the theater, we were surprised to see that the normally free parking lot had a sign, "charity $5" to park. I paid it because we were running a little close to curtain call, but I'm not sure if i would have pd otherwise. I'd think that "charity" would be considered optional, but I wasn't going to debate it. We made our way into the historic music hall and easily got our tickets and a beverage. We climbed the stairs to get to our seats, which were perfect. Parquet Center right, row A. Although not packed, there was a nice crowd, and the center floor seats were all sold. As the show began, (2 guitars and one vocalist)the sound was continuously tweaked. At one point there came a buzzing from a speaker due to a cord malfunction. The artist attempted to fix it, but eventually, the sound cree came up and worked on it. I personally think that the sound crew should have come up immediately and not make the artist kneel down. The artist did take a break in order for the sound crew to be able to work on the sound (cords) without disrupting the rest of the show. During this break, however, the concession booth was not open. (I think it was possibly due to the fact that there wasn't supposed to be a break.) After the break, the sound was much better. The artist received a standing ovation and played one more song before ending the concert. It was a little congested exiting the floor to leave the theater, and...

I attended the musical play Spring Awakening last night, 4/27/24, but left totally shocked and dismayed at intermission The music and actors / performances were great, but the play itself was disgustingly graphic and unnecessary to get the point across That the Cohoes Music Hall made the decision to present this play, that parents and community allowed their children to participate leaves me numb Im a 74 yr old male who lived through puberty and raised 4 successful kids To make the point that teen sexual awakening for us all was wonderful, frustrating and confusing, a play could have done it artfully, tastefully and without characters “doing it” on stage live Really? I’m in disbelief that this play made it from 1906 til now …….. It will take me some time to get over my shock at what I witnessed last night, and that a part of our society just loves using “art” to parade what are private and intimate human moments, casually My partner and I will be more careful before buying tickets to support local shows...

This place is really cool! This is a neat old theater that is really still in great shape! This is the only show I've ever seen here, however the vibe is just so right here. The old wooden stairs Creek while you walk up them. The old balcony and rotunda ceiling are really just a wonderful Vision into 120 to 150 years ago. The really magical part is we can enjoy this architecture, and also enjoy our current theater and or media. I would highly recommend seeing almost anything here just to get the experience of going into the building, the amount of art that has been made...

Came here for a Ryan Montbleau show the other day and was pleasantly surprised. The venue is nice and cozy, as you might expect a theater to be, which made the show very fun and intimate. For the price of a general admission ticket, you can be right in front of the stage - comparable to being in the pit of a bigger amphitheater. If there’s something going on here that you’re interested, would definitely recommend checking it out!

First time going. It was a bit confusing. My friend got the tickets and we found the elevator entrance, took the elevator up to the Orchestra, apparently we were supposed to go to the box office first to have something scanned. There were no instructions. We ended up getting better seats which was great. We saw Beatin The Odds and Monsters of Rock. Monsters of Rock was a trip.
