We take the kids when the weather is warm and we can't really make it to a real beach. It's alright as long as you watch out for the cowheads (little black prickly seed pods from an invasive aquatic plant, look like alien eggs and hurt like heck if you step on them) and the bricks from long ago factories. It is on the Hudson so it's always good to check on any advisories about the water quality. Basically it would be a much better beach if humans didn't pollute...
Read moreLovely spot, but very rocky beach. Parking is good, the play ground is cute. This was a well maintained area offering a dog park, frisbee golf, pavilions, picturesque views of the Hudson River and east to walk trails (not flat or wheelchair/stroller friendly).

Disappointed at so many people leaving their garbage instead of carrying it 30 feet to a garbage can. The water is a bit brown in color but seems pretty clean and warm.
