Nice trail, too many mosquitoes and bees. The trails were clear enough to not get lost, though very rocky and slippery at some points. Wear appropriate clothing, and tons of repellent. Went with family, my mother and my son got stung within the first hour. I've visited at different times of day, early before 10 is best, not many people. Picks up about 3pm, not sure if ATVs and MotoCross bikes are allowed but surely heard plenty of them through the trails after 5pm. Picnic areas are nice, plenty of spots to choose from, grills are still in good enough condition. There are port-a-potties available for after the public restrooms are closed. Read moreI have known this park for 57 years. It is a beautiful park to go strolling with your dog or bike with the familyYet it has alot to be desired. Years ago before the county took it over during the summer there used to be lake swimming with life guards and a concession stand. In the winter ice skating and sledding with a concession stand and a warm cozy fire in the fireplace to sit by. Now it just offer hiking trails and mountain bike trails. Westchester County along with Peekskill and the Town of Cortland are planning to add kyacks and a dog park among other activities which will change my rating...
