Take a break from the TikTok worry to look up your nearby state parks and concert venues! I haven't been here in years, and never with Ivy. She had SO much fun today. 💕 #tiktok #theforbesfelines #ivythebasset #bassethound #reactivedog #dogtraining #statepark #saratoga #spac

A true gem of a park in upstate NY and all of Northeastern US. The park is truly unique, you will not find another one like this in the Northeast. Besides beautiful territory with golf courses, vast plaza complex, lawns, forested areas, ravines, and streams, the park features multiple natural mineral springs. You can (should!) try a sip from each spring, as the water is pristine and healing. The healing properties of the water have been well documented and known for centuries, but gradually lost to public awareness over the past 100 years or so. Each spring has unique mineral composition and taste that you will not encounter elsewhere. The water has generally been used to improve digestion, but must only be consumed in small quantities (sips, not mug-fulls). Also don't be shy to wet your face, neck, and arms/legs! Aside from the water itself, the springs emit vapors that have a calming and relaxing effect on the body and mind, helping you feel rested and at peace. The scent from the Park's plentiful pines helps clear the head, build immunity, and clear away stress. The park houses a spa offering mineral baths and other treatments, a theatre, a couple of museums (my favorite is the Automobile Museum), a boutique hotel, and a performing arts center. Lots of space to roam, whether walking or cycling. Many covered picnic areas, a massive scenic golf course, a stream for fishing, and lots more. What's not to love. Come and enjoy! And welcome to Saratoga Springs, NY. Please Like👍 if you found this review helpful!

Had my mom's celebration of life at Hawthorn pavilion in the state park. 1. Need better directions inside the park getting to the areas. Many people got lost and my sister had 3 wrong turns herself despite having a very complicated map. 2. We found the pavilion but people were already setting up for their party and got mad when we said we rented it and our name was on a small piece of paper under the name of the pavilion but multiple people said they didn't "know". There was at the end a few youngungs maybe 20ish maybe younger come thru the pavilion as we were still sitting there and walked over to the BBQ grill which we still had our charcoal and stuff down there. They were in the process of bringing their food to cook down when I was feciously saying yea ok go ahead use our stuff, we rented the place and my best friend ended up getting loud but nice with what I was saying and what everyone else wanted to say and all these kids said was we didn't know so on that note...better signage for paying customers otherwise what's the point in paying?? I mean $150+ for the entire day. We ended up leaving 4 hrs early (we had until dusk..9pm) because of this issue. Overall we had a great time. Bathrooms were right there and a lot of elderly people appreciated this. Only thing with the bathroom is 1 stall was open and the door didn't shut completely so no way if locking it. Plenty of seating. We had about 40ish people and was allowed 75. Would I go again...yes.

when you hear you are going tasting and to bring a cup, the last thing you think of is water. We showed up at a large beautiful park. The buildings on this complex look like the old Greek education centers. The buildings are red stone with awesome looking arches that give the illusion that they go on forever. This park has a number of different springs all with different flavors. History says it is believed that the limestone bedrock cracked and allowed the water to come up in different places through different minerals setting up their unique tastes. The Iroquois natives believed that the water had natural healing properties which was later passed down to the European settlers. Most of the water is naturally carbonated but there are at least 2 that are not if you don't like that sort of thing (like me!!!) Walking around it makes you think about how much you take water for granted. I turn on the faucet and water comes out. But that is not the way that it was for people 100 years ago. They had to search for water and know that it was healthy to drink. These special waters with their high mineral contents kill bacteria and make the water safe to drink (let's not talk about the tastes!!!). Wondering from spring to spring is like a thirsty treasure hunt, never knowing what you get until you taste it! This is an adventure that has to be tried at least once. To be on the hunt for that most basic of substances, water.
