I was visiting North Carolina and staying at my Aunt's place so I wanted to go riding with her. I have been riding horses for eight years so I did a lot of research before choosing a good barn. When we arrived I was looking at the horses and they all looked well fed. We were getting on and not using mounting blocks unless you couldn't get on from the ground which I was a bit concerned about because horses backs are sensitive especially older horses. The trail was pretty and the horses seemed to not be uncomfortable. She was telling the girl behind me to whip her horse so I kept hearing that the whole time. We trotted a couple times and she told them to stand up if it was too bumpy which was great. Overall I think it was a pretty place and the horses were well fed but the instructor didn't give directions before to help minimize the horses being uncomfortable.
