I have mixed feelings about this place. The park itself is amazing however there's an empty trailer park right next door. I heard the Metro Parks are running folks out of that space. To me, that screams racist. Why run folks out of their homes? Some of those folks could only afford that home and forcing them to leave for any reason is uncalled for. As you walk up to the park there is also a triangle board with history and photos. The front has all white folks, as you go to the left there is a photo of an Asian person, and as you head towards the final board (also facing the trailer park) is a scene with all people of color. Read moreI would have given this area a 5 star review. But the Metro Park needs to have a Ranger that is dedicated to just this area. While using the shelter with a large group of children present. We had two separate men try to beg food, water, and money. We gave one of the men water, but they both didn't appear to be destitute. Later, we had a guy on a - racing around the picnic area and shelter. I only saw a Ranger drive by once in a 3 hour period.
