I hate to have to give this review. I have shopped here for quite some time. The main reason is the neatness of the store, but they have changed. I purchased these Hawaiian Dinner Rolls yesterday dated for August 5th 2024! During dinner my daughter ate a entire roll not noticing anything strange. When my child went back for a second roll and after biting into it she started yelling! When I saw the green mold, I was immediately in disbelief and angry and worried about my daughter. My child had eaten this poison and we didn't know what to think or do right away. I was up all night with my daughter worried trying to monitor and clean her system. It was late so, I came back to the store early, the next morning to inform the owner and manager and with hopes of preventing someone else from the same fate. When I arrived a very young girl was at the window. I asked for the Owner or Supervisor and she immediately stated she was the manager, but her boss would be in later. I was very angry and explained to her what happened and why. As we spoke two other female employees came over to the window, and one of them called someone on the phone inquiring about a department that handles the dinner rolls. The supposedly manager was lost for words and didn't know what to say or do. Then she ( the manager) said all she can do is offer me a crappie $2.59 refund. Are you kidding me? Everyone walked away! No real apology, No, let me get your phone number for the owner or my boss. No let us remove the remaining dinner rolls right away and investigate the problem. If this is how Value Center is now valuing its customers, then SHAME ON YOU! How many other people have eaten items from here that were bad and didn't notice. Sorry, but I have to report this! I'm curious to see if I will hear from the owner after...
Read moreTwo items. That's what I brought to the checkout counter. Two items. For the first item, nothing was coming up when they scanned the barcode, so they had to send someone halfway across the store to check the price. For the second item, a different price rang up than what it was labeled. So they had to send someone halfway across the store in the other direction to check this price. If this weren't enough inconvenience for what should have been one very quick, hassle-free experience, the floor manager then had to go check the price himself. THEN he still had to talk to a higher-up manager before something could be done about it. But nothing was done about it. After running all over the store and making me wait four different times for two items, all on account of things that were their mistake, they refused to give the mismarked item to me for the price they indicated I would pay for it, which was $2 cheaper than what it rang up. Two dollars. Apparently two dollars is worth more to them than a valuable customer, because they just lost one who has spent thousands there in the three years I've lived in the area. Actually, they lost four customers, as I'm a new dad with another on the way. By the way, this is not the first time this has happened. It is evident now that their policy is never to budge on price, even after inconveniencing their customers for something that was the store's fault to begin with. To the managers/owners: This is just not how you run a store. You know you would expect better service yourselves; why don't you provide that to your customers? Your customers certainly deserve better, and I hope in the future, they get it. I'll get...
Read moreMy daughter took me to this shore last week and I just loved the prices..so I went back with my son this week because my daughter was working and we needed help and a young handsome man (think that he was some sort of manager) helped us three different times.. He shared with us extra information that we didn't ask for to help us experience a better shopping environment and we more than appreciated the information... Now I shop at Krogers almost daily because it is literally 1 minute from our house so my son and I know the prices with our eyes closed and there are so so so many items cheaper than Krogers at Value Center Marketplace... This store is about 15 minutes from our home but we have agreed as a family that it is worth the drive. My son is a grown man and he was acting like a little kid in a candy store because the prices were so much better. Also the selections of items is so wide ...and there is every brand of liquor you could find there and and bakery and deli. And the items are brand name. We honestly felt like we were shopping at a discount Krogers store. Also the cashiers are so nice and helpful which was a big surprise because they were young and most cashiers are not as nice anymore. Also I cannot forget how very clean the store is and how nice the carts to put the food in are. I could go on and on but I will end with saying we have cut our food bill more than half. Value Center Marketplace is...
