This is by far, my favorite library in the area. I used to live in coal city and moved to Morris but I still drive to the Coal City library. It's spacious and very well lit with a comfortable sitting arrangement near the magazines. The upstairs is dedicated to nonfiction only, as far as I've seen. Also on the second level is at least one research librarian at all times if you need help. The library sometimes serves as, what I'd describe, a community center offering classes and demonstrations on various subjects. I don't know what children's section is like because I haven't any. The staff at the library have at times, gone above board for me when I requested a particular book that wasn't in their interlibrary system.
