Sweet Treats and Tasty Eats — Restaurant in Coal City

I don’t typically do reviews, but it’s a new business. I went for the first time today, and I arrived at the end of a mini rush, one customer leaving with food, eight construction workers inside, and a delivery order all ahead of me. The owner and two ( I assume) high school kids were working; both kids were clearly training, and that needs to be acknowledged. That said, no issues at all, and I enjoyed my carry out meal (chicken Philly & fries). The kid at the register was friendly, and knew to ask if I wanted everything on it, which at a new place is impressive. He said it would probably be about a 15 min wait, which it was, but again, there were nine orders ahead of me, and this isn’t McDonald’s.

The fries were a bit cool, but that’s okay, better a little cool than too hot, and again, with smaller establishments, you might get some cooler fries towards the end of a rush. Boodlers was like that, Polk-A-Dot can be like that, it comes with the territory when it’s a smaller, local business. The chicken Philly was solid, good-sized, and larger/more full than I expected.

I definitely recommend Sweet Treats & Tasty Eats, and will visit again. As time goes on, and the employees get the hang of things, ST&TE should only improve. Here’s to a hopefully long and...

I’ve had the cheese fries a few times already. Every time they disappointed me more. The first time the fries were not that hot but the cheese made up for it. The second time the fries were a little more hot but the cheese didn’t taste all that great and there was barely any fries or cheese. And the last time they overflowed the cheese and there was like brown stuff in the cheese that looked old and I almost puked. The cheese tasted old. The Italian beef there was ok. But there was barely any cheese. Their hot dogs tasted a little raw. They’re a little expensive having $5 for 1 scoop of ice cream. They take awhile to cook the food and most of the time there was 1 or two...

This business is very welcoming! I went there last night for dinner, and felt very welcomed by the staff! They all had a smile on their face and were beyond exited to assist me. The food was immaculate!! I had the bacon cheese burger, it was flavorful, and perfectly cooked!! I got fries and they were also amazing!!! Perfectly cooked!
