Iāve been going to this market with my puppy for about 4 months now. I spend $30+ each time in support of local venders. Today, I was kicked out of the market because my 7month old puppy was barking while playing with other dogs. While being āescortedā away from the premises, numerous people who recognized my dog were calling his name to greet him, other dog were attempting to play with him, and patrons were trying to stop us to get some breed information. Despite this reaction from the market-goers , I was told that my dog was viscous and needed to leave. I was then told by David Hodges that āthis will happen every time you come to the market as long as Iām hereā. A completely unwarranted threat by someone who calls themselves the āMarket Director ā. Not only was I the only African American dog owner there, but I was the only of all dog owners with a visible dog permit leash , as per policy. Not once did I see him ask to see any permit leash, even when I was stopped/greeted by other patrons with their dogs. Unjust...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my second time ever at this market, first time this year. After looking for signs regarding dog policy and seeing none I started walking my dog through the market. A man started walking close behind me indirectly talking about me and my dog. I didnāt even know he was talking about me until I turned around and asked and he told me I was encouraging other people to walk their dogs in the market, without me knowing dogs were not allowed. He said I needed to buy a green leash and sign a waiver for my dog to be around. I asked him if I could sign the waiver without buying a new leash, and he said no. I questioned why there was such a policy and he dismissed the whole conversation and walked away. From indirectly talking about me, to assuming I knew the rules and accusing me of encouraging others to break them, to being rude instead of trying to be educational on the policy, this gentleman was completely rude and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a terrific farmer's market. Compared to other South Jersey markets, this one has more produce vendors. While many sell the same things, there is always a good variety. I appreciate that there are fruit vendors (peaches, apples, berries), vegetable vendors, and tents selling meat/eggs/dairy. You can also buy plants here during most weeks. In addition to this, there are a few places to get coffee or a quick bite to eat, good bakeries, some interesting craft vendors, and a few specialty food items. such as amazing cheese spreads from Cheese, Etc.(The only thing missing is really a fresh seafood spot! Depending on the time of the day it can be a little crowded which can make...
