We would probably go again once the new native-focused exhibit is complete. In general, pretty good museum, especially for the price. Unless it's an event, I would not consider this super kid friendly for under 10. It's a lot of reading, very little interactivity. Most of the exhibits were really interesting and informative, but you can tell some of the information is definitely...outdated--including one 'n' word on a poster within the buffalo soldiers exhibit. That was really disappointing, especially as it's not even a direct quote. I think the museum should strongly consider removing. Read moreGreat Little Fort. I was told if i wanted to learn about Kit Carson this was the place to go. Sadly when I arrived there is nothing about Kit Carson it was replaced by the Buffalo Soldiers. When I asked if there was going to be anything new added we were told that the Director wanted to share other stories because Kit Carson is all over the area. We learned about how this military fort was strategically placed in the borderlands and was designed to coerce Indian tribes onto reservations.
