Post Commissary — Local services in San Luis

I have lived here since before Martinez's bought this place (Jim's Old Post Commissary). I built 3 houses by buying my material at best prices I could find locally. The first was buying from Alamosa. The second was from Kings Lumber in Pueblo because was they were the most regionally competitive. And the third was in the last 10 years.

Since they took over, I have found that in the Alamosa area, Home Depot and Lowes in Pueblo have not been able to compete with most of their prices. But I'm not a contractor or company man, so I don't get the discounts the regular companies and corporations would get at the lumber yards and hardware stores. Bottom line, they are cheaper on most hardware and building materials locally...

For a small town, these guys do a great job trying to keep a bit of everything in stock. I have been shopping here for the last 5 years and I am surprised by their selection every time. They are a bit more expensive but we do live in a small town and it is worth not having to drive to...

The guys are always helpful. Great little hometown hardware store. Of course you will pay a little more. Wanna pay less? Drive to Alamosa or Pueblo. Want convenience with a surprisingly good selection, and a hometown feel? Post Commissary. Love this...
