If I could give them zero stars, I would and here is why…We choose the Diner because of their high stars. We walked in as a party of 4 and were told there’s a 5 minute wait. Okay. No problem. There were 2 waitresses servicing 9 tables. We were seated within the 5 minute time frame.. But we were seated at a table for 3! Hello! How can you not count. The waitress said she would be right back to clean the table. The table to our right gave us an extra chair to use.

We continued to sit there another 10 minutes. I finally got up and grabbed menus. The waitress showed up right after and gave use 3 sets of silverware (there is still 4 of us), but didn’t wipe down the table. We were then told she would be back to get our drink order. 2 more parties of people had walked in. The waitress then proceeded to seat both parties and get their drink orders. Still the 4 of us sitting a table for 3 waiting to be served.

We got up and walked out. The manager or owner started to apologize. I made the comment how 2 parties of people came in after us were taken care of. He replied sorry I only have 2 waitresses. No excuses. I was a waitress for years when our children were little and served a lot more tables in a timely and professional manner.

We went to Del’s Diner where there was 1 waitress for 8 tables and everyone was served in an amazing fashion.

At the time of the review, I have completed 954 other reviews and I can say this is the worse place we have visited. Word of advice… EAT...

While some state the food is over priced , the proof is in the posted menu , and, in the San Luis Valley , with real satisfied customers. Finally a good restaurant in Ft Garland that is run by qualified People and a real chef in Charge . I hope this place holds fast and does not fold to fake reviews left by friends , of the other restaurant owners that are in the area that suffer from the "Good Old Boy" syndrome that has plagued the Valley for generations. The food is Great , and priced well within reach of most people. Stop in to try it, its actually the best place in the Valley now . Food is fresh and not the typical canned or frozen food service food you see every were else. Stop in to try it, you wont regret it, I have eaten in 5 star places and I have eaten in some of the Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, this place can stand on its own , fast becoming a Local Favorite!. I will be recommending this as a stop for Guy Fieri , for the next time he comes to Colorado . I think he will be really stoked to see the place and try the food. I ordered breakfast requested extra crispy hash browns, and got them cooked correctly, crispy and brown just like I...

I have no idea why this place is rated a 4.8 on Google. When we saw this, we were excited to try the food. We went on a Sunday morning for a late breakfast. The restaurant was clearly severely understaffed.

Our server didn't even check on us once. We got seated and ordered coffee, and she told us she would bring creamer. 20 minutes later, no creamer, and our coffee got cold. We had to flag another server down to get some creamer. Our main waitress apologized, which was fine, everyone makes mistakes.

But then it took another 30 minutes just to get our food which was basic diner fare — eggs, bacon, pancakes, nothing too complicated. Our server was so busy she didn't even come by and ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. I felt bad for her — this clearly wasn't her fault — she was waiting on 8 tables. On top of that, the food was meh. Definitely not 4.8 stars worthy.

Cool place, but poor management. Maybe they were short-staffed or something the day we were here, but unless this can be confirmed by management, I wouldn't...

Grilled chicken dinner and Chicken Fried steak were both suggested by our server, and both were knocked out of the park. The salads were simple, but tasty, same with the mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken fried steak was may be the best I've ever had, crispy and juicy, tender and had great flavor. The grilled chicken was juicy with a great flavor and was topped with cheese and some amazing mushrooms. Well worth the visit. Edit, tried the key lime pie, it is a frozen, perfectly tart, melt in your mouth delight.

We absolutely loved it. We sat outside and the weather was amazing in early August. The waiter was super friendly, the food was amazing, and the overall atmosphere was exactly what we needed. I was impressed that the chicken tenders my son ordered were actual filets of chicken that had been breaded, floured, and cooked on-site, not something from the store. We recommend the Mountain View 100%! Disfruta/enjoy! 💯🐔🏔️
