DO NOT follow the google maps directions to Midnight Falls. THIS RATING IS FOR THE MAP, NOT THE FALLS.
We are not from there, we followed the directions off Old Stage Rd. It took down an access rd that we clearly were not suppose to be on. It is a road meant for 4 wheelers or vehicles meant to be on mountain roads. It’s rough, very steep to the point I thought we were going to roll, narrow, no place to turn around, and no cell service. There was a gate at the very bottom that we were able to get turned around (barely) and had to get back up the hill after that which I didn’t think we could do. Had the road been wet, we wouldn’t have gotten out at all. It was a terrifying experience and actually ruined our whole trip because everyone was so shaken up. It’s a forest service rd. It needs a sign at the top off Stage Rd that says “maintenance rd- No public access, no access to falls”. It was absolutely horrible. This road needs taken off Google Maps.
