I wish I could give a better rating, but I've been really disappointed since joining about 2 months ago. Much of the equipment is broken and in need of repair, and those things usually sit for long periods of time without being touched. One of the recumbent bikes (out of two available) constantly has slipping tension belt issues. The other one completely resets your workout if you stop peddling for even a second to adjust your position. Both of their arm rests are in poor repair. Many of the other bike type machines have broken/unresponsive panels so you can't select a workout or adjust the level. Quite a few of the lifting machines that use the old fashioned rubber belt pulley are not well maintained. The belts have a very strong bacterial/burnt smell that will quickly run you off the machine. The hamtractor is especially awful about this. Besides the equipment issues, the gym seems to be very bad about enforcing the rules that made it an attractive place to join. There are numerous nights where some very large and obnoxious men slam weights and spew profanity loudly within earshot of the front desk, but no one tells them to stop. There have been children present and it doesn't seem to matter. My wife has started to feel very uncomfortable as there have been situations where some guys will make very disturbing loud sexual grunting noises while they lift. I'm not a stranger to lifting grunts and groans, it's hard work. These guys were making moaning/whimpering noises and ran to the restroom immediately after their lift. Don't know what kind of drugs or enhancers they were on, but we were both disgusted and offended. I've almost gotten injured a couple times by some regulars that think it's okay to sprint back and forth behind the row of treadmills, and they seem to be oblivious to the fact that anyone turning around to step off could get ran over by them. Many of the lockers in the men's room reek of cigarettes or weed, and a number of doors have their locking mechanism broken off. For the extremely steep price they charge ($50/mo base fee per person), I would expect better maintenance and better enforcement of rules. If my wife stops wanting to go because of the obnoxious creeps left to their devices at this gym, I'll definitely be breaking my contract and having my bank block any attempted...

Tried to e-mail this to a manager or look online to handle this discreetly, but this is what i’ll do. I love Wilson’s. I think good price for a clean, retreat feel and workout! Pretty welcoming staff and watchful, a little sales pitch happening or byasses with patrons a bit.

But, I’m a pretty new member who works overnight and so i usually come during the day. This past week i came 2 hours bf close and was trying to get my hour work out in and try to mentally relax on my first weekend off work for a few weeks straight.

I’d seen a worker turning off machines so i’m like ok i’m done with my workout let me hit the sweat box and shower not checking time. I was going to hurt for that!

It was a very awkward, aggitating, and sympathetic feeling i got when i was criticized harshly by an employee who asked “ are you seriously about to take a shower right now? We have been closed for 5 min.” I looked at my watch ... it was 1 min. Past 9p Friday night and was half way undressed and was apologetic, but defensive bc of her tone and how she asked this question. She stated “i have to pick up my daughter acrross town”. She kept insisting and repeating this, when i said “let me get rinsed and dressed” calmly trying to calm her and let her know i got the message don’t stress me. I was in my car by 9:07pm.

To alleviate situations like this can i suggest you implement training to have it announced on the intercom closing in 30 min. Or a walk through with a smile pointing at the time? And then at 10 min. Remind face to face so you make your rounds and turning off “certain” light and music to que patrons , even wait at the door and know by the cars and people count inside who’s here and Thank them with a smile for coming. Locking the door. “ She said she “thought i’d left already and didn’t realize i was still here.”

All i needed was a proper reminder as i was zoned out from the week trying to squeeze a workout in that i dragged myself in to do, and was very sorry for her. But, really set me in a bad mood that i had to fight to shake off. So I had to mention this to see if it could help others and your employees with slow and a little off patrons...

Called and asked how much a monthly membership was and the front desk lady said she wasn’t qualified to answer that question. Am I calling a gym or signing up for the Army? A gym shouldn’t have to take my information to tell me how much the basic package for weights and cardio is.

Edit: I called the gym again at 2pm today asking for Dawn, the membership director (as the owner stated I should do). The person on the phone told me she would be in at 6pm today and to call back then. I called again at 6pm and that same person told me that she would be in at 6pm told me that she would be in but wouldn’t be taking any calls. Please improve your customer service as it seems like your training of your front desk attendants is...
