Worst customer service we have ever experienced by far at any Waffle House in the US. When we arrived around 9AM the parking lot was nearly empty. There were 12-15 diners inside, far less than what we would normally expect on a weekend morning. Many of those were waiting on their orders. With the exception of a couple of counter seats, there was no seating available. Several booths were unoccupied but had yet to be cleared of dirty dishes. One waitress, Debra, ignored us for over 20 minutes. It was clear that she intentionally refused to do her job and only partially cleared dishes from tables in her area but never wiped them down and ignored our presence. The manager, Austin, was nowhere to be found the first 20 min we were there and also ignored us waiting even though there were vacant tables that were not cleared. After a few more minutes a couple who had not even received their food when we arrived, finished eating, paid their bill, and Tammy another waitress, immediately cleared that table for us. Meanwhile several booths in Debra's area had still not been cleared in well over 25 minutes. Prior to us being seated, and while we were there, only two more individuals entered the restaurant. They were not busy at all. It is clear Austin is incompetent and does not possess the managerial skills required to efficiently oversee a Waffle House facility as evident by his failure to identify Debra intentionally ignoring customers and taking any corrective action. I have been to 100s of waffle house locations across the country and for the most part they all are pretty similar. This restaurant was by far the best prepared food and customer service in the country (as far as I'm concerned).
There is not a single negative remark that could have been made during my family's visit to this fine establishment. There have been occasions where we have not received this level of service from even four/five-star restaurants.
I don't travel that much anymore but I recently took my 5th trip from CA to GA and back to CA. Out of the hundreds of WaHo's I've eaten at along I-10/20/40, Lee and Sean made this the best experience for me, my wife, and our kids.
Lee was attentive to everything we needed before we knew we wanted to ask for it. My wife and I have very particular orders and the menu has changed since our last trip. Lee knew exactly what we were referencing when we ordered and double checked that she had everything correct.
Sean was equally as welcoming to us. Every dish was made to complete perfection (this is rare for even our previously regular locations to do). My wife commented how she could "taste the love" that went into the preparation and execution of our meal. Our kids are picky eaters but had nothing to say as they were shoveling their food into their mouths.
I have no practical reasons to ever move to Columbia, MO but knowing the quality of this staff and restaurant has earned it a place on my short list of destinations to which I could relocate for work. I would/will make every excuse possible to eat at this location again.

Went at 11pm, only people in the store, and the server rings my card for 78$ instead of 18$ and put my account in overdraft. He acted like it was just an everyday thing and he had done nothing wrong, no remorse. Went in the next day and talked to manager and he said "sorry thats your bank problem, cant do anything today and wont refund your 18$ meal", Waffle houses are franchises so talking to corporate doesnt really exist, finally got through customer service and talked to the owner who yelled at me and told me the problem was my fault and that it was just an accident and hung up on me. NEVER going to this one again, I will be going across town to the other waffle house.
