Outstanding! The entire experience, from our initial phone call to walking out the door with the work completed, was top notch. I reached out to Burned Hearts on a Friday evening around 9:30pm (when just about every other shop within 100 miles of us was already closed for the day) and immediately spoke with the owner, Di. She is awesome! She was super patient and accommodating. I sent her images of the ideas we had and she recommended Coyote do them for us. Despite the time, she would have gotten us in that evening around 11:30pm but they were already booked so she got us set to come in the next day.
When we arrived for our appointment my girlfriend immediately mentioned how ācuteā and comfortable the waiting area was. The whole shop was very clean. They offer soft drinks, bottled waters, and a fantastically well stocked snack bar for their guests. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with and getting to know Di in person, she really is a gem. Between their hospitality and the coziness of the shop, we felt itās the kind of place that would be fun to go to just hang out.
The artist Di had recommended to us, Coyote, was also a pleasure to work with. Very nice guy and a true professional. My girlfriend and I were getting what I would call a ācoupleāsā tattoo that required the work be placed just right on each of us to line up. When completed we both agreed that all of it, the placement of them, the quality/detail of his work, the entire experience, was just phenomenal! The tattoos we got were in celebration of our anniversary and meant a lot to us so we had high expectations yet we both felt Coyote exceeded them. We could not be any happier with his work.
In terms of aftercare for your new tattoo, most other shops do nothing more than provide a sheet of paper with instructions. Some have some aftercare products they offer their clients for an additional charge. Unlike many other shops, you wonāt leave Burned Hearts with stuff oozing out of Saran Wrap taped over your new tattoo. After Coyote finished his work we got all cleaned up and they placed Tegaderm sheets (also called Saniderm, or referred to as āsecond skinā bandages) over them. Theyāre pretty much the gold standard these days for post tattoo aftercare. The tegaderm dramatically simplifies the aftercare process and virtually eliminates some of the annoyances typically associated with healing a new tattoo. Additionally, they provided us each a bag with the products most other shops send you off with a list of to purchase for aftercare. And by the way, the price was very reasonable. Could we have gone somewhere else and paid less? Maybe. But we both felt that the price was fair. Before we left Di again offered us snacks and sent us with some chocolate bars for our little girls at home.
As owner of the shop itās obvious that Di has set out to provide an unparalleled, white glove experience for her clients and we feel she has managed to achieve just that. We couldnāt have asked for anything more. My girlfriend and I would recommended Burned Hearts to anyone looking to have work done and I can say with certainty that I will be going back there for my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAround 4 months ago, I was lucky enough to come onboard as the new shop manager. I wasn't sure what to expect and had concerns similar to what any new client may have;
Are the staff and the artists knowledgeable and professional?
Will they work with me on scheduling?
Will it be fun and inviting or cold and clinical feeling?
Is the shop kept clean?
Tattoo "& Art Company", what do they mean?
the list goes on...
Well, 4 months on and I have to say that Burned Hearts Tattoo & Art Company has not disappointed!
Alltogether the artists and apprentice, (Gene, Jesse, Smitty and Drew) hold a treasure trove of excellent tattoo knowledge and advice gleaned over almost 60 years of tattoo experience!
Di our owner is kind and flexible when it comes to scheduling, be it with clients or staff and her positive, uplifting and energetic attitude is infectious! (In a good way, not like covid.)
All staff are friendly, welcoming and respectful to clients/client guests and family members, without being stiff or no fun. They also do a good job reminding clients Burned Hearts is there for them throughout the tattoo process, including during healing and touch - up phases as needed.
Burned Hearts staff also strives to ensure a clean and comfortable atmosphere and do a great job of being clean and health conscious, following proper procedure everyday to ensure each client's health and safety are a priority.
I was surprised to find that the "& Art Company" bit meant that its not just tattoos available at Burned Hearts, But other forms of art also.
Sure, Burned Hearts has a sweet selection of curated jewelry, cool stickers and the obligatory shop merch including T-shirts, hoodies and bags, But guests are also able to browse unique pieces of art created by our growing community of local artist partners including, but not limited to; fine art prints, photo prints, custom miniatures models (By yours truly..) and more!
In short, it's a blast! To call getting a tattoo, working here or even just coming with a friend as moral support "fun", would be a severe understatement.
So, if you find yourself having any of these concerns, have questions or are just ready to move on that new tattoo, feel free to give Burned Hearts a call to schedule an appointment. We can't wait to hear from you!
If you happen to be a local artist looking for a unique opportunity, please don't hesitate to call or stop in. Burned Hearts is currently seeking a few skilled and talented tattoo artists to fill out our already stellar roster and are always happy to speak with local artists of other mediums about artist partnerships.

We called ahead to ask about pricing and were told by Jesse that the shopās starting price was $80. I sent over a photo of the tattoo ā a simple ghost silhouette, under 3 inches ā and mentioned that three of us wanted matching ones. Jesse said it was no problem, so we scheduled for 3:20 PM and arrived around 3:10 PM. After checking in and signing paperwork, we ended up waiting until a little after 4:00 PM before we were even shown the design size. During that time, the artists were outside smoking and chatting instead of setting up. We waited another 30 minutes or so after asking for two small additions on two of the ghosts. The actual tattooing was quick and painless ā honestly the best part of the experience. But when it came time to pay, things went downhill fast. We were never told any price other than the $80 minimum, and when we asked our artist, she said she didnāt know and only handled the tattooing. At checkout, we were shocked to see we were being charged around $169.99 each, plus a $10 card fee, and of course we tipped on top of that. For small, simple black-and-white outline tattoos that took maybe 20 minutes each, this pricing felt extremely unreasonable ā and the lack of clear communication made it worse. I wonāt be returning or recommending this shop to anyone. Next time Iāll definitely do more research...
