Markham Regional Arboretum — Attraction in Concord

This place is great! I've been going there since I was a little kid & it hasn't changed at all since back then. 35 years or so & it's still exactly the same. Now I take my kids there & they love it too!

The world is changing so fast these days. Faster than ever before. And it will only keep changing faster & faster. Markham is a beautiful park and is great for taking walks and other family activities. I actually did my Eagle Scout project here, so I hold this place in a special place in my heart and memory. The staff that work there are friendly and can answer most questions about the plant life there. Be sure to bring a hat and water with you if you visit during the warmer months, as it does get hot. A natural oasis very close to downtown Concord, the Markham arboretum becomes lush during the rainy season, which also replenishes the Galindo creek running through it. In the summer, watch our for snakes. Volunteers operating the nursery on site offer plants for sale on certain Saturdays.
