I had my wedding at Madera Estates in April 2022 (~200 guest count). To summarize the experience in a couple of words: beautiful, romantic, and stress-free. Ian gave my parents, fiance and I the first venue tour, and then he sat down with us to explain the package options. By the end of the evening, we were completely sold. Ian remained in communication with us after, helping us understand the contract we were signing with the venue, and then guiding us through the initial wedding planning (i.e. working with the caterers, figuring out a day of timeline, understanding how to make venue payments.) Ian was always quick to respond, and he made the whole experience feel magical. Madera has certain vendors built in to their packages, and I highly recommend using those vendors as it streamlines your planning, you only send a check to Madera (vs 10 different vendors), and you know you will get high quality vendors. Madera also has a list of vendor recommendations, and they host "Madera Nights" in order for you to meet those vendors (that was an awesome in and of itself!). Once we got closer to the wedding date, Kaylee took over as our wedding coordinator. Kaylee was so flexible with her time, ensuring that I didn't have to take off from work for the venue meetings. During our first sit down, we walked through a 20 page document "the wedding bible," where she took notes on all of our vendors, preferences, and the smallest details that you wouldn't even think of. From that point on, I knew we were in good hands and did not need to worry about the venue being organized and on top of things. We had two additional meetings to determine decorations/linens and finalize the details. Madera has their own rental company, so it is a breeze to rent any additional linens/decorations that are not in your original package. Kaylee was also very responsive via email, and she ensured all of my questions were answered before the event. Madera also had checklists available and sent reminder emails with various planning tips that I found very helpful! On the day of the wedding, Kaylee and the Madera team set up our entire wedding (including every little decoration I rented/brought), and made the entire day so stress-free! I've been to some weddings where the bridal party and family had to spend a lot of time in the morning setting up the venue (and then being exhausted for the festivities), but that was not the case at all with Madera. I know I didn't witness everything, but I could not believe the level of coordination from the Madera team. One example of this was after the ceremony, my dress needed to be bustled by a specific bridesmaid. Kaylee called in to her microphone headset to the other Madera coordinators and asked someone to get eyes on and escort the bridesmaid to the Bridal suite to bustle my dress. Within five minutes, the bridesmaid was there and ready to get me bustled. I was amazed! One other example of the great work by Kaylee and her team is that my cake had a slight accident after it was delivered. The baker had already left, but Kaylee was able to get a hold of her, and the baker was able to come back to fix the cake. Kaylee took care of things and never seemed to lose her cool! Beyond all of the amazing work by the Madera team, the venue is just beautiful and magical. I could not have had a more perfect wedding without their help, and I am so thankful to come...
Read moreMadera Estates was the first and only wedding venue my fiancé and I looked at. We immediately fell in love with the place and the staff! Madera was designed by photographers, so everywhere you look is picture perfect, and the staff has decorated it beautifully.
After Melissa Mandel, one of their wedding coordinators, gave us a detailed tour, we couldn't wait to book with them. We were blessed to have Melissa as our coordinator for our wedding as well, and we were thrilled with her! She is relatable, dependable, professional, calm but purposeful, organized, detail-oriented, sweet as can be, and determined to make your wedding vision come to life. I can never say enough positive things about Melissa. She went above and beyond every single time I needed her. She welcomed my hundreds of questions, always answering them patiently and efficiently. She also answered questions before I even thought of them. I was never stressed out about the wedding because I knew Melissa was incredible at her job. She could always put my mind at ease. Every little random idea I had, she would help me bring it to life in an easy, practical, yet meaningful way. She listened to my vision and made it her mission. She genuinely wanted our wedding day to be the most special day of our lives. She helped me communicate with the DJ, caterer, and bakery. Because she put so much time, energy, and consideration into my wedding, the day was smooth, calm, BEAUTIFUL, and I knew I didn't need to worry about a thing.
Throughout the planning process, my mom and I asked Madera's manager, Amanda, many questions as well. She too was always willing to help and quick to respond.
Madera has a breathtakingly beautiful bridal suite with plenty of mirrors, and a swanky groom's quarters equipped with a fuseball table, TV and video games. Champagne for the ladies, beer for the gentlemen, and snacks were served while we were getting ready.
Madera offers outdoor as well as indoor wedding ceremonies. My fiancé and I chose to be married indoors in the Hacienda. The Madera staff set everything up, flipped the room for the reception during cocktail hour, and tore everything down at the end of the night. They also loaded all of our gifts into our parents' cars. They sent us away with a to-go box of food, cake, and champagne.
Madera's property is so expansive, there are endless possibilities for personalizing your day. We put a photo booth on the veranda above the groom's quarters, and a candy bar in the "VIP" room in the Hacienda. They let us decorate already gorgeous foyer however we wished. There is an outdoor courtyard that can be used for your ceremony, games during the reception, dancing, a fire pit, etc. There is a beautiful forest backdrop that makes for stunning pictures. The entire venue was available to us for engagement pictures as well as bridal portraits.
Like I said, I would give Madera Estates 100 stars if I could! There is no place better. I can't recommend...
Read moreBeautiful venue setup with great coordinator Brittany. My wedding was 5 stars until the following day... Let me get to the truth behind Madera. My florals were at Madera over night. I had asked between my ceremony and reception what I would happen to my flowers (ie donate to a hospital) and that my parents would like take some to the gravesides of my grandparents. I was discouraged from donating to a hospital because of a fee that I would have to pay and was told that it had to be set up in advance. The conversation ended at that as my new husband and I were about to do our grand entrance. Our wedding went on flawless until the next day when I noticed in maderas Instagram stories that MY florals were being used for the wedding that followed mine on Sunday WITHOUT permission or WITHOUT asking me. Mind you, I had gone to the venue on Sunday to pick up the top tier of my cake. This would have probably been a good time to ask me if they could have been used (and I probably would have said yes with the exception of 3 arrangements my parents wanted). I could not get over how unethical and insensitive it was to do this. The general manager contacted me the next day and was very polite in trying to make right of a what he was calling an honest mistake. I was almost coming to terms with this mistake (because we are human and they do happen) but then the owner called to tell me that his venue made no mistake and the mistake was made on my end because I told the coordinator clearly that I did not want the flowers. This is utterly a complete lie because they conversation regarding florals had not been completed due to the grand entrance as explained above. The owner then had the nerve to say that my husband directed staff to throw away the florals which was also NOT TRUE. The owner than proceeded to tell me that I was letting a miniscule thing overshadow my big day. Little thing?! $8k in florals is not minuscule. Especially when they took it upon themselves to give it away to the next bride. Moral of this story, make sure everything you do with this company is documented and another person is there to validate conversations because they will lie to cover themselves. Again, Brittany did an excellent job in coordinating the wedding and Ian (GM) was very professional in trying to handle the situation. However, the OWNER is the one to watch yourselves of. He points fingers and does not take responsibility for his staffs actions. Do not put $ in this mans pockets unless you’re fine with dishonesty and having your...
