Nurse Kate, the owner of Barre 3 Tucson, is ready for business. If there is anything you could think of, she and her team are making EVERY single effort in every aspect imaginable to be open. I have always wanted to write a review and now could not be a more important time because so many of us desire a healthy community of friends that encourage and support one another, and get the benefits of exercise! If you ever wondered what the Barre 3 studio was like at La Encantada (next to Blanco Tacos) now is your chance to try it. (currently June 2020) There are also local classes being offered on Zoom, so you can experience what they have to offer at home, or at the location at the mall. Rest assured Kate is serious about physical distancing with limited class size, air purifiers, etc.The studio is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. You cannot help but feel happy here while working out. Kate and her team of family and instructors care about, well everything and everybody so much. I have tried several different Barre styles and if you think you have experienced Barre, make sure to look closely as they are all different. Personally this Barre studio is the best one I have tried. Above any of that is how impressive this local small business owner is. Even the members are all friendly and supportive and you will easily find yourself amazed by what they have to offer. If you have ever considered trying Barre 3 at La Encantada, now is the perfect time! In my opinion, this is exactly what we all need in our lives. Helping out a local small business owner could be another aspect to consider. If you dread exercise, do it for Tucson! They make it fun to workout. I love the music, all of the instructors, the care, the design, the atmosphere, and the fact that I did something really good for myself for an hour. I have made great friends at Barre 3. This studio is a cut above. We are so LUCKY to have this in Tucson. Come check it out! I hope to meet...
Read moreI was invited to try Barre3 by a close friend who’s been going there for years and speaks so highly of it. As someone who lives in Tucson, I was really looking forward to experiencing a studio that’s supposed to be about strength, healing, and community. But unfortunately, my first visit left me feeling disappointed and not because of the workout, but because of how we were treated.
The front desk staff was kind and welcoming at first, but when I arrived just a few minutes late, they wouldn’t let me into class due to a strict “doors-closed” policy. I understand wanting to avoid disruptions and for safety reasons, but sometimes things just don’t go as planned, especially for busy parents, students, or anyone navigating health issues or mobility challenges. That kind of rigidity felt out of step with the spirit of Tucson, where most local businesses understand that life happens and tend to lead with compassion.
What really rubbed me the wrong way was how the situation was handled afterward. Instead of taking the experience as a learning opportunity, the owner followed up with my friend (who had simply tried to help me get into class) and essentially blamed her for the situation. That kind of response doesn’t sit well with me at all. In a town like Tucson, where word-of-mouth and local support matter so much, a business should know better than to make customers feel disrespected and unvalued.
Barre3 might offer a great workout, but the way we were treated just didn’t align with the values of warmth, community, and flexibility that so many locals expect from the places they support. The workout was fine but the overall experience was unpleasant. I’d rather spend my hard earned money at other fitness studios where I can get the same workout and feel valued for...

The Signature classes offer a full-body workout that’s fun, dancable, and just the right amount of challenging. They’ve helped me strengthen and stabilize my lower back and core, which is something I really needed as I healed from an injury.
The Strength classes are a slower, more intentional burn, using heavier weights to really focus in. What sets B3 apart is their emphasis on listening to your body, no pressure to push through pain, just encouragement to move in a way that supports you.
The instructors and staff are all so welcoming and uplifting. Barre3 is the fitness community you never knew you needed.
Give it a try....
