Frost — Restaurant in Oro Valley

There are plenty of staff, but they are horribly disorganized. They are stepping over each other, trying to help and end up not helping at all. They can't figure out who ordered what or who helped which customer. The pineapple tastes like it came straight out of a can. It was disgusting! We ordered the flavor with peanuts. Took a spoonful and bit into something crunchy! It was the peanut still in the shell! I went up and asked about it, and was told that sometimes the decor they put on top of the bins would fall in. Decor!!! They clearly need to pay more attention to what they are doing. I was offered water when they should have 100% offered to replace it and give us another choice. I'm not going back for sure. The gelato is yummy and I've always patronized them as a neighborhood favorite. Recently, however, I was very disappointed at an encounter I had with two servers at this Frost location.Neither were wearing masks. Given the peak in COVID cases this month, I asked if they could please wear masks while serving my gelato. They said they didn't have any and that it was their choice whether to wear masks or not. I tried to reach out to the corporate General Manager to discuss Frost's corporate policies on masking, but never received a return phone call. Not happy that this place doesn’t have a policy to inform people with food allergies. Staff was very lax when it came to answering questions regarding ingredients. They were not able to answer questions about the toppings, Some of which could have possibly contained the ingredient in question. We’re talking life threatening allergic reaction due to cross contamination. They told us that the actual gelato did not contain the allergin but did not have info about the cookies, or other toppings used to display the gelato. The young manager became defensive and clearly couldn’t answer our question.
