The Oregon coast offers so many amazing sites and the Devil's Punchbowl does not disappoint. Like so many other things in Mother Nature, the real trick is the timing. I would personally suggest visiting the Punchbowl both at low tide and then later at high tide - just for a comparison. There are several good online sources for determining when both high and low tide will be on any given day. (In fact, it seems that they can pretty much predict, with fairly good accuracy, the tides far into the future.) The surrounding park area is well landscaped and pretty enjoyable for walking around. There are seemingly great views all the way around. It does stay a bit cool in the Spring and always seems to be a bit windy (which one might expect for being on the coast) so wear a jacket to stay warm. There are also some fun shops just outside of the parking lot, including the Cliffside Coffee & Sweets which has amazing ice cream, brownies, cookies, etc., and also the Pura Vida Surf Shop withl some really cool surf items and clothing (with some very friendly dogs who will warm right up to you.)

I had the most incredible experience at Devil's Punchbowl Arch! This natural wonder left me absolutely speechless. The moment I set eyes on the stunning rock formation, I was in awe of its beauty and sheer grandeur. The hike to reach the arch was an adventure in itself, with breathtaking views at every turn. The trail was well-maintained and easy to follow, making it accessible to hikers of various skill levels. But it was the arch itself that stole the show. The way the sunlight filtered through the natural opening created a mesmerizing play of light and shadows, making it a photographer's dream. I couldn't resist taking countless photos. What makes this place even more special is its peaceful and serene atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to connect with nature and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I highly recommend Devil's Punchbowl Arch to anyone seeking a memorable outdoor adventure. It's a true gem in nature's crown, and I can't wait to visit again. A must-see destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers!

Such a cool spot! Read on for instruction on how to get down in the punchbowl! The parking lot offers mediocre views of the punchbowl at best. Apparently this is an old cave that collapsed and lets sea water spew in and out of the top. We arrived at low tide which meant we were able to hike from the Otter Crest beach entrance inside the structure itself. PRO TIP: There is not a ton of parking at the Otter Crest beach entrance and the punchbowl is a pretty long walk from the path. However, it is TOTALLY worth it. At low tide you only need to walk through about knee depth water to get in the punchbowl and walk around on the rocks. Be careful to stay away from the waves, they are strong enough to knock you over on to the rocks. You will want to wear hiking shoes in here, even if you have to take them off to wade through the water. The rocks are very sharp and slippery. Plus there are barnacles everywhere. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. It ws my favorite thing we saw in Oregon. It is a truly unique rock structure

The small parking lot at devil's punch bowl is not for long vehicles or trailers. This is a natural cave, it was a pretty calm low tide. There are lots of islands near the shore that host a good number of birds. We spotted a star fish in the clam punch bowl. There were a few whale spouts seen and flashes of tails, though they were far out in the kelp beds. There is a Mo's restaurant in the smallish parking lot. A short paved walking path circles a grassy area with picnic tables. There is a parking area before the punch bowl parking that seemed more suitable to larger vehicles and looked to be a state park, didn't get any there so no information about fees. But across the street was a set of stairs that led down to the beach. Visible from the devil's punch bowl. A pokemon gym and several stops to spin on the walking route, don't recall a route, but it would have to be a circle to work in the space.

The natural beauty of this gorgeous area is amazing. The ancient Basalt Rock formations of the volcanic action that has shaped this area so long ago blows your mind with the way these natural features put on Mother Natures own movie of how her power can change this land. In the 70's for a period of time it was referred to as Satan's Cauldron. The red and gold colors on the walls are the natural color of the layers of sandstone. The Devils Punchbowl is filled with seawater as the tides rise or the storms come ashore through the opening that has formed over millions of years of pounding by the surf. When the tides recede you can access the bowl and explore the marine life and rock layers of this natural feature. Be aware of the tides, waves and storms so you don't get caught in a situation where you need rescuing. As always leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉.
