I found this beach kind of by accident! I went to see the punch bowl and while I was walking around, saw a woman making a mandala on the sand at the base of the cliff. I tried to figure out how she got down there and I found the stairs and stumbled onto this awesome beach! It's very wide and the color of the sand is interesting. Sometimes it's purple, sometimes it's black, sometimes it's green. Lots of driftwood. When I went there weren't any rocks or sand dollars or anything, just wide swathes of pretty sand. Definitely go back to the stairs before high tide. I almost didn't make it and would have had to swim or find an alternative.

My dad brought me out here in 1988. I had never been into the Pacific before. The ocean was mirror flat with the sun shining so it was about as warm as I think an Oregon beach could be. There was the beach, sun, and sky. I'd never seen something so beautiful. I remember just staring at the ocean , the rocks, with my dad sitting next to me. I wish I could go back there. We always said that was the greatest beach in Oregon but Cannon and Seaside are just amazing.

Otter Rock Beach was a beautiful beach to visit; I would definitely recommend it. It is great to walk around on the sand, or if you're into surfing, there are a lot of waves here, so make sure to bring your surfboard, or you can rent one and get some surfing lessons from the surf shop that's close by.

Super fun beach for a day visit. Nice calm surf quite often for fun family surf sessions. Great place for learnin’ kids the way of the waves. Intense stairs to get down to the beach then back up. Lots of parking but it does fill up in the middle of the day. Awesome sea life to be seen at low tide. Gray whales hang around right...
