Otter Crest Beach — Attraction in Newport

How can you not love the golden sunset from this beautiful beach. 💛 The north side of the beach has the most unique rock in the water that looks like a ancient flat lava flow. I have no idea what it was but I'll be back to do more research with the family. If you visit during low tide you can see the tide pools and enter the Devil's Punchbowl. We visited during low tide and were able to walk down to the beach north of the devil's punchbowl. Access coming down may be difficult for some individuals with a steep gravel path and erosion. We saw pelicans, seagulls, crabs, a small natural waterfall, and tidepools. The beach was pleasant even with a wind and mist in the air. We walked along the shore and explored the Devil's Punchbowl. Park on C Avenue, and walk down the State beach access trail from there, not from Devil's Punchbowl. This beach access would be rated higher, but the trail down, while safe, is a bit steep. This is a good place, with rocks, pebbles on the beach, and likely tidepools when the water is out. It gets much less use than the Devil's Punchbowl area just to the south. There is plenty of...
