Everglades Airboat Rides — Attraction in Doral

I would be VERY leary of this guy. We called this guy from Miami, told him we were coming in. He gave us a price, told us what to expect(wait time etc.) We called him told him we were there, he said we were at the wrong place told us to go somewhere else, then told us we were at the wrong place etc. This went on for over 2 hours because. He sporadically answered our calls, told us to go another block...etc. he basically led us on a wild goose chase. The mechanic near him told us he was probably out, just wait. So we did. Our 20 min ride took us over 3 hours of going back and forth. We found out later from the legitimate Park amd Rec airboat rides that there are many problems with individual owners. This guy? Our tour "captain" was John who arrived promptly and worked us in with his scheduled tour. He was comical and informative, explaining the impact of development and pollution on the Everglades in a way that didn't make you feel damned, but certainly made you aware. It was a thirty minute trip that took almost an hour, out to a village to see the way of life of the Native people and then on to another which had been destroyed during the hurricane. The ride should start at 3 pm but our driver went away and we started maybe at 3:20. I understand that 20 min is not so much but when you stand under the direct sun at 104 F this is not very pleasant. We also came 15 min before the ride to take front seats, so we’ve been waing half-an-hour which was quite challenging. And I think the whole ride took less than 30 min.
