I've been bringing my children here for 15 years and it's a good place for a fun water area. It's usually pretty busy, so unless you happen to come on a slow day, be prepared to claim a relatively small space in the sand (There are several covered picnic tables, and BBQ areas, but they are also almost always claimed.) The beach area is okay. There's usually some garbage, but it's mostly clean. You're not supposed to bring dogs, but there's usually someone who doesn't think the rules apply to them and bring their dogs anyways. There are porta potties and outdoor restrooms. Nothing fancy, but they'll do the job. There's also a dock to jump off, a little fishing dock, occasional ducks and I believe there's a volleyball court, so there's quite a few things here other than water and sand. There's also the occasional drinking, smoking, swearing group of teens/young adults, so just be prepared for that possibility. It's usually not bad, but I've definitely witnessed a fair amount of rambunctious behaviorover the years. Still, my little ones enjoy playing in the sand, splashing in the water and watching the occasional train and plane pass close by while they play. For a small mountain town, it's a good "Beach" area.

Great small lake to swim with the family. We stop by on our way back home from Vancouver with the RV. Very busy for a small lake. Our rig is over 40 ft, although we were able to drive around the lot, I don’t recommend it for RV that are 30 feet long or more. You can always park outside the park lot. During our visit a local left a notice on our mirror suggesting to turn off the engine while park at the lot. I would have taken the suggestion with more weight if the local had the character to tell me in person. I would had explained to him that its was my generator and not the engine that was on. Regardless my wife had fun! Thank you Rotarians for the hard work and giving back to your community.

It was a little disappointing when we got there as it looks like a condo development or something is going in right next to it, but we were looking for some place to walk after just arriving in the area that day so it fit the bill! The trails are pretty flat. We did stumble upon a faerie village which was an unexpected bonus; they apparently do this for a few weeks every year and we just happened to be there at the right time so that did make the hike a little more special to see all the tiny details and the creativity of some of the artists. Another highlight was the doe and 2 fawns we saw in the faerie village, adding to the magic!...
