Jamestown Beach. — Attraction in Williamsburg

When I was growing up, this beach was a lot simpler but now with the added pier, walk ways and restrooms plus additional picnic tables, it's an even better experience. The water is usually quite shallow with very gentle waves so it's great for the little ones. However, there is little natural shade and not much wind coming off of the river so it can get quite hot on the days when there are no clouds in the sky. I'm sure it's a good place to take kids. I went to check out the fishing facility part of the park. 1 place to fish without having to fight back the brush. The only clear spot could only fit 1 person, and that person was there. Plus, it cost $10 to get in, and all we did was check out the non-existent fishing spot and left. Not great, not terrible. No waves as it's not on shore. The restrooms were fine and had outdoor showers to rinse off, which is always nice. Had to Pay to park....$4.00. Nice concrete walkway to get to beach and picnic area, which had plenty of tables with shade, or sunny locations, and even handicap accessible picnic area.
