Read moreIf you are experienced and worry about the "following an instructor" part of this as I kind of did.... DON'T. On the other hand, if you are terrified but want to know what's like, this is perfect for you too!! They are clearly (based on my experience) there to cater to all levels of skill/comfort when it comes to the Corvette Experience.
My two concerns were, how does the instructor know I wanna go faster, and what if we lap people... do we just have to wait... Answer, he knows because he keeps going until he creates a gap, and no... the tower has two places on the track they have the slower groups pull over! So literally, I lost no more than a lap or two of the hour worth of driving to slower cars.
The first thing that they ask is your experience level and try to place you with like skill drivers to make the experience the best they can. It was an instructor, myself and another gentlemen that also had "experience" that were placed together. What I hadn't thought of was what if we get out there and someone in our group keeps slowing us down... Because when we got out there, the gentleman behind me kept falling back, so we'd end up going 40mph to let him catch up after hitting a few corners pretty hard. I was upset because it was taking away from my experience.
However, it took about three laps before they pulled us into the pits and gave him a different instructor so just me and my original instructor were cut loose to find the limits of the C8 and believe me we found them! This track has several late apex's, a couple off camber corners, and a ton of straight to get her up to speed!!
Regardless, if you are worried they will hold you back in any way, don't be. We were supposedly doing laps within just a few seconds of a professional racers hot laps!!

Read moreUpdated for Sep 2020 track day: Forgot how fast this track is even on a 600. Really does flow very well for a bike compared to F1-inspired courses, such as COTA. Flows as well as Barber but with the speed of Road Atlanta. I'm blown away at how good the surface is--it's still in excellent condition. It doesn't seem to wear much with age, unlike, again COTA which has a lot of bumps that have formed over the years. In fact the weeper in 16-17 doesn't seem quite as bad as I remember and is easily avoidable. Also, I don't know that I saw the weeper in 7-8 this time. Luckily no turtles on the track either! I can't recommend this track enough. It's right up there with Road Atlanta in my book!
Original Sep 2018 track day: Very nice track for motorcycles. A little bit of everything and several blind corners help make it a challenging track to master. That said it flows very well and has good runoff in most corners except 6. Good grip though weepers develop late in the day--even on dry days--between corners 16-17 and 7-8. Facilities are really good. They have full showers and restrooms. Decent visibly from the roof deck though this is the only spectating vantage point. Not a good spectators' track otherwise. Top notch safety crew and corner workers. They're very fast and efficient clearing bikes, etc. Approx 22 RV hookups are available for a fee and they have garages available for rental, depending on the org that's arranged the track day. They have full liquids recycling (oil,...
