Avoid this campground if you're smart. We recently stayed in site 47, which was an RV super site. The campground is cramped for space, and parking is often an issue. The management recently changed their policies on allowing projector screens, which I was told they had received numerous complaints about previously when I inquired why. Never mind that when I paid for the reservation almost a year in advance, that wasn't the policy. They also changed their quiet hours, which now begin at 9:30 pm as opposed to 10 pm like it used to be and like most other RV campgrounds. A 9:30 pm quiet hours start time in the summer months is ridiculous. This place has lost their mind. It used to be a family friendly place that we've visited for the past four years but now I can't help but feel like they are catering to older, uptight folks who don't want children, noise, or light after it gets dark. Part of the fun of camping for our family is letting the kids watch a movie on the projector outside of our trailer at night, and we've always been respectful of our neighbors and campground quiet hours. These new Draconian policies are too much for me. For what they charge, there are better options nearby. We will miss the trees and river access, but unfortunately, we will not be going back to this campground unless they change their ridiculous policies.

While the staff were friendly and the redwoods are beautiful, we feel like we were a bit mislead. From reading the reviews and the website, we were expecting to park our RV, have views of the redwoods, to hike to Henry Cowell with our toddler (who we were carrying in a baby carrier) get some nice quiet sleep and just have a little fire outside with family. This is NOT what you are getting here! First of all, the campsites are super tiny and the RVs are cramped next to each other. We paid $90 X night to wake up to views of RVs all over us instead of redwoods. The people behind our campsite were so loud and obnoxious late into the night. The only way to hike is to either cross a river, like literally in the river type of crossing, or you have to walk down the very narrow and dangerous road. We were too scared to do that with our child and felt stuck, bored, and annoyed by all the people literally right next to you and all around you. It felt like we were staying in a crowded trailer park. We left early and although we lost money, our piece of mind was far more important. I would never recommend this place! ***Posted a picture of our view from behind the RV. Btw, that's another campsite next to this one. Yes, they really pack everyone like sardines there!

The directions to the RV resort provided on their website were good. Check in was easy and there was plenty of room to park when checking in. The staff there were all friendly and helpful. The pull through site they put me in was great for my 36’ 5th wheel. One had to be careful maneuvering through the RV Park because of other camper’s vehicles parked on the side of the road. Site 62 was a great site because we only had campers on one side of us. It’s probably the best site there. I never noticed any low hanging branches in the RV Park to drag on tall campers, thanks for that! The bathrooms were clean and the laundry was too. One must rent a portable fire pit, which they deliver to your site if you want a campfire. I think it was $5 for the fire pit for the length of your stay and $9 for a bundle of wood. There is an aluminum picnic table. Our site had full hook ups and everything seemed to be in good working order. This is a beautiful area to visit. Groceries are a bit pricey in Felton but that’s to be expected in this area. I’ve done a lot of motorcycle riding and I think the riding around here is some of the best I’ve ever experienced. I’d like to return to this area and I’d certainly stay at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort again.

We have been camping at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort every year since 2015 and have always enjoyed our stays. I have reviewed this RV Resort in the past and am once again reviewing it because we continue to be impressed by all that it has to offer. Managers Eric and Christi, along with their excellent staff, take great pride in keeping the grounds and facilities in excellent condition.

The campground is nestled among towering redwood trees in the quaint town of Felton just 6 miles north of Santa Cruz, CA. There are about 85 full hook-up sites of various sizes and configurations that are fairly level with gravel pads. Some of them overlook the San Lorenzo River. Most are back in, but there are a few pull-thru sites. Many of the sites are very shady at different times of the day due to the tall redwood trees. There is also a tent area with another dozen or so sites. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance and for a small fee you can reserve a specific site so I would recommend visiting the Resort ahead of time if possible to identify a site suited to your likes and your RV.

There are two restroom / shower facilities on site, along with a central laundry room that are well maintained and very clean. There is also a very large clubhouse and an expansive deck overlooking the river with 2 gas BBQ’s that are available for guest use. We used one of the BBQ’s a couple of times during our recent visit and they worked just great. On the weekends the Resort Managers arranged for a local vendor to set up a portable grill near the office where he prepared breakfast burritos and specialty sandwiches.

Fires are permitted in approved fire pits that are available from the resort for $5 for your entire stay. Firewood is also available for purchase. There is Wi-Fi throughout the Resort and we were able to connect easily and streamed movies even when the campground was full. Cable TV with a variety of news, sports, and movie channels is also included at each site. The roads in the campground are asphalt and many sections have been recently repaved – great for bike riding.

In addition to its well-maintained appearance and facilities I cannot say enough about the management and their staff. They are all genuinely committed to making their guests feel welcome, comfortable and safe. The office is open daily 9am-5:00pm, and the on-site mangers are available 24/7. Friendly full-time staff members are continually working on the grounds, cleaning facilities, delivering fire pits and wood, cleaning sites as they are vacated, and helping campers as needed. Quiet time at this family friendly campground is from 9:30pm to 8:00am.

While secluded in the redwoods, Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort is close to many venues and activities making it ideal on so many levels. California Redwood parks, beaches, hiking, antique shops, fine dining, fast food, farmers’ markets, historical districts and more are merely minutes away. Nearby Roaring Camp Railroad offers narrow gauge steam train rides to the top of Bear Mountain, as well as a Santa Cruz Beach train to the Boardwalk amusement park on the beach during the summer months. Henry Cowell and Big Basin Redwood Parks are close by and full of hiking and biking trails. There are several grocery markets in Felton and nearby Scotts Valley, as well as a Costco just 6 miles in Santa Cruz
