I'll start of the review by providing my first interaction with staff. When I went to check in I was told I needed to pay a $20 "early check in fee" because I was early. I understand rules and will abide by them but this one baffeld me.

Check in time here is 1pm. My family and I arrived here around 12:15pm. The person behind the counter deemed it absolutely necessary to talk with other staff and search for other campers information while I was left standing at the counter for no less than 15 mintues. By the time the person was done, it was close to 12:30- 12:35. I was told to pay this "early fee" since I was entering the site 25 minutes early. Now i can understand if I was here a few hours early and demanded the staff hurry and clean the site so I could enter but this was 25 minutes early and the site was already clean and people left 3 hours before the check out time (friends of ours were staying on both sides of our site).

I actually thought the person behind the counter was joking about the extra fee but when I asked she said "if you want to enter early you need to pay the early fee or you can go wait in the Safeway parking lot until 1pm". Now Im supposed to drive all the way to Safeway and find a spot to park my rig bceause of an extra 25 minutes? There is no overflow parking and I can't just wait there. Driving to Safeway would have taken longer to do so i just payed the $20.

I'll keep the rest of the review short. The sites are EXTREMELY small. 27' trailer with one pop out was to big and our pop out was in our neighbors site. Luckily it was our friends site so it didn't matter. Bathrooms were clean enough, pool was clean, game room was ok. You get a cash discount of 10% at check in. We got talked to our first night here about being to loud at about 10:02 when we were in fact pretty quiet. Just a bunch of old people sitting around a campfire. The man that talked to us was very nice.

Because of the bitter taste that was left in my mouth about the early check in, I will never come back here. $20 is nothing but I doubt they would give me any money back if I checked out early. No extra work was done on the staffs part to check us in early but they were very adamant about taking more money. Find a better place with bigger sites and better staff.

Edit: I'm adding to this review as I got a reply from the park. Yes I did copy and paste my old review from 4 months ago since I don't use Yelp anymore. I'm not entirely sure why that matters, but either way if the park has changed then that's great. I'll keep my review up...

Amazing location! Horrible owners told their child that they hate us, and he came and shared with our son that his parents are mean telling us what his parents are saying about us behind our backs. Later they told their child to go back to us and say that they hate another site, not ours. Owners have no class nor customer service. On the last day of our stay at Cotillion Gardens RV Park, my husband was driving from Los Angeles and couldn't make it on time because his car broke down. The owner came to me and said that there were people who "paid real money" for the site we are staying in and they could not accommodate them even though no one came to me during the day to check what time we could leave or suggest to move our ready-to-go trailer on the site of the property. In the end, they charged us an extra night. Even people working on-site mentioned several times that the owners are not customer oriented and greedy about money.

Your reply says it all!

First of all, the tow car did not leave the Cotillion Gardens RV Park on the day when we were scheduled to leave, and I was at the site all the time as well. My husband had a family emergency in Los Angels several days prior, and his rental car broke down on a way back, and he could not arrive at 11 AM, which obviously, was not planned. Just to mention, most RV parks have late policy check-out, but not this one. The office did not pick up the phone during the day when we were trying to call to explain the situation. In general, they will not pick up the phone if they fully booked. I let the maintenance know about our situation around 12 PM. The owner came to our site for the first time around 5 PM when the comment about "real money" was made implying that we paid a monthly rate, and the other guest paid daily rate which is 6-7 times more. Moreover, the owner told me that those guests had to leave, now they have a different story. We managed to leave the Cotillion Gardens RV Park the same day around 6 PM. For you, because we paid less money per day, we were "less" customers compare to other guests who paid a daily rate. So, you allowed yourself this comment. Besides, many other situations showed not just poor customer service but also incompetent business management.

Once again this place is not customer friendly. In this situation, I would expect a call clarifying the situation and apologizing for foul words about my family instead they prefer to...

It saddens me to be forced to give this place 1 star, as it truly is beautiful and in an excellent location. Unfortunately As a previous worker and someone who has spent almost 6months in close proximity, working directly with the owners, and living on site I have no other choice. Also as someone with this much time and energy invested I can assure the owners and operators were hands down the most 2 faced, stingy, and false fronted people I have ever worked for in my entire life. I can't even begin to list the number of infractions I witnessed against both myself, every employee I worked with, and many many of the customers that came to this place. They present with care and act with pure greed, judgement, control, and overbearing entitlement. So many inappropriate comments directly from the owners mouth regarding customers and his judgement toward them. So many on the spot policy changes to favor Cotillion Gardens needs at any moment. So many double standards held based on how Martin or Callie will view you. So much disdain and ill regard from the owners to the long term residents spoken directly from the owners mouth. This is just the tip of the iceberg, The list could goes on and on. Truly the worst people I have ever worked for. They simply should not own this beautiful campground, or honestly any campground at all for this matter. It saddens me they are the owners and I hope this place soon gets resold to some actually kind people and the current owners can go back to being a doctor and a tech wizard as this is clearly their true passions. Every single camp host worker I've spoken to about this place has said all of these exact same things. I have zero to gain by writing this. I just think everybody should know what they are truly supporting and who the people that own this place truly are and how they act the second nobodies looking, what you're support as a customer, and what you're signing up for as...

We had an awesome stay at cotillion rv park. It's true that spaces could be tight, We have a 25' trailer with a 19' truck but it fits perfectly. The neighbor was a little close to our right side just because they have slide outs. We are at site 23, it has full hookups and is well maintained, with an old picnic table and also a metal fire ring. It has easy access to hiking which we took advantage of, walking to the san Lorenzo river and Old train trestle bridge. The roads going to the park are curvy and narrow but the view is astonishing but make sure you pay attention because a lot of hikers and bikers park around the area and it is close to henry cowell redwoods state park. We will be adding this to our favorite rv campsite and probably visit again and stay a Little longer. One more thing, this rv camp site is a nature camp site and not a luxury camp site, stop comparing it to those sites, this site is perfect as it can be if you want to be around trees and nature. 👍

Our family has been staying here for years and will continue to do so for years to come. The park is well maintained and the bathrooms are cleaned 3 times a day. Some of the sites can be a little cramped and close together but most sites give you some elbow room. There is a pool on site, a small store and a game room. You are just minutes from Felton and Scotts Valley for any last minute item you might need or some casual dining. The Roaring Camp railroad is a 15 minute walk through the beautiful redwoods and you can catch a train to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk or into the redwoods for a nice relaxing steam train ride. Driving you are only 15 minutes from Santa Cruz. Would give 5 stars but the Wifi has not been updated in at least 15 years and is very slow with everyone streaming now a days. WARNING. If you are towing a trailer anywhere up to Felton DO NOT use Hwy 9 from Santa Cruz as it is very narrow and winding and not trailer friendly.

Whenever I google an RV park to camp I am always so hesitant...but cotillion gardens is SO NICE! I was shocked when we saw our private tent camp sight that had so much room for our 14 ft instant tent and enough space for our 4 dogs! The people who maintain this park are so kind and the park is so clean! The showers and bathrooms are way more than I expected and all of the other campers were so sweet! We met some very sweet people when we were staying there! Check in and out is so easy and being dog friendly with a large dog pack was an added bonus! I couldn't rave about it enough this place is gorgeous and so wonderful and relaxing! Also being so close to Santa Cruz it was fun to take the dogs to west cliff beach for the day! I can't say enough, to the owners of this property you have gained a valued client forever. Our dogs and us loved every moment of our stay there! We plan to book again soon!
