SpinNations Family Skating & Event Center — Attraction in Port Richey

I want to specifically review the birthday party not the roller rink itself. We purchased the gold package for a Saturday afternoon. The thing that really bothered us was the kids were called to eat pizza and when we arrived at the table there were only 8 slices of pizza for 28 kids. When we asked for more pizza, reminding them how many kids we had at the party they looked puzzled that we wanted the pizza right away, we waited at least 15 minutes for another 8 slices and 20 more from there for 8 more (abs we were still short). I honestly felt embarrassed as the host as a bunch of young kids were just sitting there waiting to eat. I had also pre ordered fruit and nuggets which I reminded the server of after the first pizza was placed out. They didn’t have those ready either, not until after the second pizza. This made the party feel chaotic, unorganized and the kids could have been skating during the time we had to wait for all the food to be prepared.I feel like all the food should have been ready before we were called to the tables since we were having a party we would expect that they all eat together. Also, when we would ask the server seemed annoyed, like we were being pushy but we honestly were all just puzzled by the way the food was handled. We paid a lot for the party so it’s not as if we were asking for favors. We also let the rink know a week ahead of time how many kids we expected. At the end we realized we forgot to wrap up our fruit tray and my husband ran right back inside to get it but the server was venting about us so he opted to leave it and get out of there. My daughter did have fun and at the end of the day that’s what matters. But I have to say I wouldn’t book this party again and the parents that attended with their kids were also unimpressed with how it all went down.I understand they had several parties but like I said above I feel the food could have been all prepared before our party was called over and that would have made a world...

I've been talking my family here for 25yrs. I know they've fallen on hard times after several devastating floods wherein they had to replace the slate floor along with everything else BUT if you can't do it well, don't do it. They skate floor is uneven and very bumpy at the North West corner which is a problem. A few more dozen coats of varnish and that issue would be solved. Their selection of rental skates leaves everything to be desired. After trying five pairs I gave up. Every single pair had a serious issue with them which can be dangerous especially for the inexperienced skater. I will never rent a pair of skates there again but not everyone has their own as I and my granddaughter do. I will say that everyone that worked there was a doll. Every single employee was as helpful and wonderful as they could possibly be. They were very aware of the little ones when they'd fall also, being sure to block oncoming skaters as they got up then checking to be sure they were ok before going off back to their jobs. My only complaints are issues that can only be fixed with money and as I said, they've had a rough few years there with floods and declining interest after being closed down for as long as they were after the floods. I sure hope things pick up for them and they are then able to reinvest into their floor and equipment. It would be a sad sad loss for the community to lose this rink. It's good clean fun for everyone and a great place for teen agers on well end nights. When my children attended on week end nights and their famous all night pajama party skates I never worried. I knew where my kids were. I knew they weren't being approached with drugs or alcohol or inappropriate adults. SpinNations, please level your floor and purchase new skates and parts to fix the older ones that are salvageable. I'd be more than happy to help ya'll raise the funds to do so. It's so funny how you say you strive for a family safe atmosphere but you can't seem to respect non smokers, I've been there 6 times and every single time without question I have had to walk thru a crowd of smokers who hang out at the front door. I travel 36 miles one way to skate with friends and have expressed to Nick about this issue but you don't seem to care and it's a shame. I have been skating now for 43 years, my first skates cost me $480.00 they lasted 28 yrs and just last week I retired them by replacing them with a new updated pair that cost me $820.00 so you see I take my skating seriously. I travel around the state and out as well to attend skating events when possible and feasible. I will give credit where it is due; pricing, staff, food is OK the floor is the second largest in the state next to Orlando's Astro skate which is extremely beautiful bump free unlike your floor which is still very nice. I drove up there just last Saturday night with my family only to turn around due to the 10 plus smokers that surrounded the front, it's not fair to my children, or my wife to subject them to second hand smoke so I took my money elsewhere. I feel like Melbourne Edwards who also comment on the ongoing smoking issue you can't seem to get a handle on or just flat out don't care to deal with.
