Wilsonville Recreation Area — Attraction in Honesdale

I had planned on visiting family who's staying at Wilsonville campgrounds, and just for the day, I was gonna go up and go out on the boat and planned on having a good day with my family but..... I called ahead, just to make sure that my emotional support dog would be welcome and I was told NO, under no circumstances can any pet be allowed. This to me, especially now adays is just crazy. ALOT of people have pets, not just dogs that they rely on for support and so on. So for a place, especially a campground to refuse a support dog just pisses me off. People have support dogs for many or things, mine being an emotional support dog because of an accident that disfigured me and for those in our military, who many depend on their 4 legged friend to get them threw the day. I don't even care if I would have to pay a fee but at least let that be an option. I deff won't be referring people to Wilsonville to do any kinda activities!!! And what's really distributing is my family has camped there for many yrs and the Old man ( who himself has no personality, he's not the least bit friendly ) has had a dog on their porch for yrs. So how is that ok. How would they feel if they were told they had to get rid of their pet?? To me it's a double standard. Not fair to those of us that want to enjoy the lake but also can't have our main support system with us. And this is why they are getting a...

Cannot thank the wonderful people at Wilsonville enough! We had our 24 foot pontoon boat in the lake for the day....and as we loaded out and were pulling out of the lake the trailer frame broke!!!!! Had to try to get back around in line to get the boat off that trailer before it completely separated....got the boat back in and as we did boom!! broken trailer had to drag to parking lot ....so we needed a place to slip the boat pronto in a THuNDERSTORM in choppy water....on a SUNDAY AT 6PM lolol#!! Panicked I called Wilsonville.....the most polite nice calm wonderful woman helped us ...I got into the slip and unloaded our stuff ....got home and we had to come back and load up the trailer onto a tow trailer...finally home 1030 that night with work at 4 am #!! I had to say THANK YOU!!! I was frantic lolol and she was kind and calm !!! What a GORGEOUS campground....some sites right on the lake front!!! Playground ....store.....nice boat launch showers etc !!! Beautiful place really nice people !!!!! Ps very close to all kinds of places for dinner ice...

Have stayed here 2 times in the last 2 years and both times we have had a cooler, beer, bottles of alcohol and wine coolers stolen from our site!!! They are even bold enough to take them from the outside refrigerator!! And when you approach the campground office they advice to make a police report!! We also have our boat at the campgrounds and have found that one of our buoys is missing!! Cut from the boat!!! I have been camping for over 30 years all over the US and I have left many vaulable things outside and I have NEVER gotten anything stolen from my campsite!!! Nothing is safe in this...
