Faulkner County Museum — Attraction in Conway

Incredible space dedicated to the complex natural and man-made history of the area. There are even exhibits curated by local colleges classes. I highly recommend visiting the model train display on the second floor detailing the history and impact of the rail industry on local land and business.

The heart and soul of Conway is buried in its long and storied history. Very much like the archeologist that heads the museum project, the folks at FCM are doing a fantastic job of excavating and interpreting what has been left behind for us.

Looks small on the outside, but there is a lot to see inside. The main floor has many rooms full of exhibits about local history. There’s a large HO scale model railroad layout upstairs. Unfortunately, because of staffing issues, the trains were not running when we visited. Helpful staff will let you roam on your own, but they’re ready to answer any questions. The Holiday Open House festivities this year were bigger and better than I have ever seen in years past. There were hands-on make-it and take-it for the kiddos, Dutch oven cooking, music and dancing, and more all over the Faulkner County Museum grounds.
